Greg Schiano (HC Rutgers Scarlet Knights)

I love how they are making it out to be about the Jerry Sandusky stuff and not the fact that UT fans are pissed they aren't getting some huge name....

There are some HUGE names out there: Bret Bielema, Charlie Weis, and Tennessee's own interim coach Chris Hoke. They don't get any bigger than those three.

I had below written two hours ago and then backed off cause I didn't want to come as too negative towards Schiano....

"Hearing Tennessee is getting cold feet from backlash as well...

I don't think this deal is going to happen. Interesting thing will be if this does fall through, is what other university will want to step up and take on the risk.

Honestly, I was uncomfortable when we made the hire and stated as much. If the same hire was made in today's climate, I don't even think he gets the DC job here. The news cycle was different even 2 short years ago."

Holy [Mark May]! Did anyone hear what the Knoxville Radio Station is reporting?

Deal was signed 2 weeks ago, and now since they are backing out, they could owe him his buyout, which will be 20 mil
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Serves them right. The Tennessee fanbase is laughable trying to take the moral high ground. If a video of Chip Kelly or Gruden diddling ten year olds surfaced, Tennessee fans would still drag their collective asses over hellfire to hire those coaches. They aren't fooling anyone.

I don't think people are thinking the long game through well on this personally.

All it takes is one other person coming forward to corroborate what McQuerrey claims, and it's game over for Schiano.

McQuerrey claims Tom Bradley told him Schiano saw Sandusky molesting a boy. Bradley denies it. Schiano denies it.

The problem is, in these high dollar situations, what happens if one person comes forward to say Schiano also told them? Even if you believe Greg, he's compromised and a sitting target. With the dollar figures being thrown around, all it takes is one phone call to Schaino's reps saying someone is ready to come forward with allegations of him admitting to "seeing an incident".

I know it's incredibly cynical, but that's how you have to think before giving someone a multi-million dollar deal. He'd be a sitting golden goose to every person close to Happy Valley....

Huh? You wrote that you would prefer "NCs" over "the stability of VT and Bud Foster," while ignoring the "stability + NCs" of Alabama and Clemson.

You are reading into my statement way too much. I am sorry I did not cover everything. I am still working on my dissertation on coaching philosophies in regards to the long term stabilities of assistant coaches. The factors and formulas involved in winning national championships with second year assistants vs sixth year assistants is on page 35.

Let me try to cover everything. There are teams that have won NCs with stability at the coordinators and some that have not won NCs with with stability at the coordinators. There are teams that have won NCs with rotating coordinators and there are teams that have not won NCs with rotating coordinators.

I want the team I root for to win NCs.
