Greg Paulus (HC Niagara University)

Since he was on a BBall schollie at Duke, will he be able to jump right in at another NCAA school at FBall? In other words, not have to sit out a season?

And why only one year of eligibility left? Didn't Rickey Dudley play under scholorship (BBall then FBall) at tOSU for more than 4 years?

Edit: I guess Redhawk's link sorta cleared up my queries...
Dudley only played football at tOSU for two seasons. His senior year of basketball eligibilty was also his junior season of football eligibilty. He then played a senior season as a football player.

Gotcha. I was pretty buzzed during most of his career at Ohio State, so it all kinda runs together.

I moved this thread out of the recruiting forums, since his situation makes it very difficult to remember the rules of posting in a recruiting forum. :wink2:

BN27, ESPN just said that Paulus is also considering the Syracuse football program.
that would just make so much more sense. he's from there....they're moving to his offense....the Big East doesn't play defense....it's SYRACUSE, so if you suck, so what....they don't have ANY qbs....

Greg Paulus eh? lol this era of Michigan football keep getting better and better.

This whole Paulus thing is awesome. I can't even put into words how awesome it is. I guess i could say it is Totally Awesome.

This topic may even need its own subforum....not just its own thread.

All of this has the added benefit of DickRod alienating current players and recruits. As a parent of a recruit, how seriously can you take this guy when he comes to your house and talks about team/family.etc.? Everything's great until some castoff has a year of eligibility and wants to move to the Whore. Go ahead, Coach, run it right into the ground.

The Michigan Daily ? The Game ? The extended transcript of Forcier on Paulus potentially competing to be Michigan’s starting QB

From what I’ve heard, I’ve been talking to coaches all morning, my position coach, Coach (Rod) Smith, he told me specifically that they have not offered him. They don’t know why he would lie. They don’t know the kid. They haven’t offered them. They said we’ll let you’ll know what’s up, because right now, their specific words were, they haven’t offered them.

I want to believe my coaches, I committed (to) them. Why would a kid like him lie to national media? So to me it’s still up in the air.

From what I’ve heard, he hasn’t been offered anything yet, he hasn’t accepted anything yet.

We were actually in practice here, we were having a meeting before practice, and he walked in, and I recognized him. I was like, ‘Who is he?’ And I talked to the coaches about it, and he’s trying to find out the best options available.
His quotes saying they offered him, I woke up and it was on TV. My coaches were calling me, they called me like three times this morning before I even saw it, but I don’t know if they saw it on TV before I did and just wanted to tell me the truth. It’s hard. I can’t give you a word on it. I’m not worried about it, a kid like that was good in high school, but it’s nearly impossible to come back to this level and play. It might be possible, but not in the QB position. You have to know too much. You have to know the speed of the game.

If it happens, it happens. I still highly doubt he’s coming. It would be impossible.
I talked to (Michigan) Coach (Rich) Rod(riguez) and he said (Paulus) doesn’t know if he wants to play football or be a basketball coach at Duke or coach football. He doesn’t know yet. I might not be getting the whole story from my coaches, but there’s no final word.
