Greatest Rock Singer...

I have to second Freddie Mercury. The man had about a seven octave range.
As far as who I'm sure got laid after a performance, I give you Mr. Steven Tyler.

It's obvious we're worlds apart on this issue.

I tried to link the video like The Shark does, but I'm no Mark Titus.

were you even alive in teh 80's??

Journey got you laid in the back seat, that is what they were good for. Please stop stroking perry and wake up. Journey molests baby kittens. Have you no heart?

Born in '79. You're probably too old to know the power of Journey at a school skating party. That song was instant hand holding during the slow skate.

That's a pretty fucking sweet thing to be remembered for.

Journey molests baby kittens.

Just when I thought I couldn't like them any more than I do.

Honorable mentions...

Fredie Mercury
Robert Plant
Jim Morrison
Getty Lee
David Bowie
Bon Scott
I'll give you Mercury, Plant, and Bowie.

Morrison's final few years were a travesty. The Doors at the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970? Sucked ass! Bon Scott didn't have the range of anyone else on the list, and Geddy Lee is automatically disqualified for his shriek of "of salesmen!" at the end of The Spirit of Radio.

Point taken. I have already thrown Geddy under the bus, so I don't dissagree.

I have Morrison on the list becasue he is the only baretone that I can think of that is worth a shit. Maybe that guy from Crash Test Dummies.

Bon Scott was bad assed. Had one of the dirties nastiest voices ever. Sounded like he smoked 5 packs a day and he gargled with broken shards of glass....and I respect that.

Do you put Janis on the list? I think you have to.

I love the classics but for my money this guy is at the top of my list:

I'm sure other people would, but I sure as hell wouldn't. Personally, I think Janis really had a terrible voice, and her celebrity was aided by (1) dating Kris Kristofferson and using all his material and (2) dying young, which piqued interest in Pearl and made it a posthumous commercial smash (well, all of the Kristofferson written singles, anyway).

Now, I don't hate Janis, I enjoy Bobby McGee as much as anyone else when it comes on the jukebox. I just happen to think she's terribly overrated.
