i still have a fully functional NES system, that works like a dream... best game? hands down, tecmo super bowl. david fulcher would eat people. other good games; contra, excitebike, final fantasy, arch rivals, mario 3, world cup soccer/superspike v-ball, rbi baseball, and here is one i just stumbled upon. has anyone here heard of 'gold medal challenge'? it's a rip off of the '92 olympic games. you can play up to eight people. a couple of times, at my fraternity in college, we would get eight of us together and play. an eight man game would take 2-3 hours to complete along w/ 2-3 cases... good times

Second of all: I think Techmo Super Bowl wins in my opinion too. But, that's been mentioned quite a bit, so I'm going to dig another option up...

CAVEMAN GAMES!!!! What a funny game! Is there anything better than getting 5 buddies and 2 cases of beer together for some good old-fashioned Caveman Games?!?! Well, maybe the same guys and beer for Techmo Super Bowl, but like I said, that doesn't count. I love this game. Mate Toss, Clubbing, Fire Starting, Saber Tooth Race. It's awesome!!! I clubbed the shit out of Zurp the other day too. Wimp! Yeah, you heard me Zurp! You club like a woman!!!

Contra has to be my favorite.... up,up,down,down,left,right,left,right,B,A,Start (that will forever be stuck in my brain)

Of course Tecmo Super Bowl, SMB3 and Caveman Games (rapid finger skills required) are classics.

You gotta love Bases Loaded though, the only baseball game I can think of where you can charge the mound and beat the crap outta the pitcher :biggrin:

I don't know. Never paid too much attention to level. I was concerned only with score. Always started at level 9 and tried to make only tetrises (however you pluralize that) for maximum point value. I was pretty happy as long as I launched the Kremlin (~120,000, I think?), but I think my best scores were generally around 300,000-400,000.
