When you take his whole career, what he meant to a team, his stats, and also what he accomplished as far as championships and wins...you gotta go with Joe Montana. If it weren't for team accomplishments, I'd go with Dan Marino, but I think as a QB, team accomplishments are HUGE! That's why I think Craig Krenzel is the best QB Ohio State has had in my lifetime, because not only was he consistant and good, he led the team to a National Championship, and stepped up when we needed him to.

Here's to Troy Smith bumping Krenzel for that top spot this year...(and sorry if that's off topic, but there's no topic in BP where it's not proper to talk about Buckeye football.)

I agree that there is probably a small amount of BPers that are qualified in age to vote on something like this.
I don't think age is totally accurate, though it is usually a good benchmark. I know 10x more about sports than most people I know my age, but unfortunately most people my age have only heard of half the guys listed here.

I voted for Favre simply because I love the Pack and know he won't win this. He is not as good as Montana, Elway, or Unitas imo

Those of you who've picked Unitas, I've heard many say he's the best QB of all time, without ever having personally seen him play, what made him so special?

I know some of you are old enough to have seen him play, I know Mili above stated he picked Montana barely over Unitas.

I just have a hard time believing guys back in the day playing against the athletes of today being able to stack up to guys like Montana, Elway, etc.....

Just my two cents.

Hard to have a best ever QB list without Otto Graham

I don't dispute that all of the listed QB's were great in their own right, but Otto Graham, I believe had the best winning percentage ever and took his team to championship games every year of his career.

Good point, he's way before my time so that's why he was omitted. If a mod would like to add Otto Graham to the poll that would be fine by me.

Oh yeah, welcome to the board PhoenixBuck!!
