One other thing I have noticed is that alot of times I use the Ask Corso just to keep the playcalling from getting stale. The play that comes up will be a pass but the commentary from Lee indicates that he thinks I should run the ball "straight up the gut" or vice versa. Has happened a few times.

It seems to me that All-American just isn't that tough. I finished the 2005 campaign by only giving up about 40 points on the year. I finished with a run defense around 0 yards per game and a pass defense around 100 yards per game. My first game in 2006 on Heisman was against Miami which was a breeze. Running the ball was a bit tougher but still dominated. Game 2 was @ Texas. Vince Young threw for about 275 on me and ran another 75 yards. Squeeked by with a win, but you can really tell the difference on Heisman. All of a sudden the punt is your new best play.

the celebration problem is all based on timing. you need to hit the button combo at the EXACT SECOND the play is over or else you wont get anything.

you pretty much have to know in your mind that if you rack off a 30 yard run you want to celebrate.....so just get ready before hand. then hold down on the trigger button (right or left) and hit circle for fans, triangle for mascots/cheerleaders, or square for player. watch out for the right trigger though.....it usually results in a 15 yard penalty.

if you can risk the 15 yards, a cool 'celebration' happens when there is a penalty called on you. if you see a flag do a quick right trigger+square and you will get a neat cut scene. i wont spoil it. it is probably easiest on a holding call or clipping.....but i think it 'works' better with pass interference or illegal touching (going OOB and coming back in to catch).

wadc- I thought that AA wasn't very tough either, especially after playing an entire season as the Bucks. I started a dynasty last night as Cincy, and got smoked by tOSU in the first game. I last like 35-7, and couldn't score until the final minute against tOSU's backups. If the games too easy then try a weaker team.

Also, the recruiting is really difficult with a weak team. I simmed the rest of year 1, going 4-7, and chose 45/35/20 for my budgets. I lost 25-26 seniors from Cincy, and I only had 77 recruiting points. I could only recruit 15 players, and I had to take walk-ons to fill out my team. My starting QB in year 2 is a true-Frosh, 68 OVR, and 52 SPD. He has good throwing ratings but will have a rough year. I recruited as many LBs as I could and moved several of them to DE, because the walk-on DEs sucked. I then had to move a FB and a SS to LB positions. Year 2 is going to be hellish, and I'll be lucky to retain my job. I think one of the keys to my contract is beating Miami Ohio. I think that's how I kept my job after the first year.

I am ready to start another dynasty with someone else much less talented. Southern Miss is one candidate.

You bring up another good point....the budget. My first year I used 50/35/15, got 8 blue chips, which is still the most I've seen, but then ran into problems when I only had 15 discipline points to hand out. This past season I did 45/35/25. I have about 45 discipline points to use, but only got about 4-5 blue chips and saw minimal improvement during the offseason. I figure the training isn't as crucial though since players can get better during the year.

no way.. i actually laughed out loud when i saw those guys celebrating and high fiving and hugging...and wait.....one dude puts his hand up and is like "whoa!" as in, "dude, don't be hugging on me!!" lol. I laughed my arss off. Best one so far.

Yeah, the kid with the corn rows cracks me up to :confused: Where did that come from? Does anyone else get pissed at Corso when he questions your play calling/punting on 4th down from like the 45 and wonders why you didn't try a field goal??? A 62 yarder isn't makeable for me in this game, is it for anyone else? Hell it's 50/50 for me from 50 out or more.

One very cool thing (for me) that I noticed today. I run dynasties with Navy and Princeton. This year, when you get a shot of Navy fans celebrating, it's actually midshipmen in uniforms.

Now if they can just get them to run down behind the endzone and do pushups en masse after my TDs... Not that there's a ton of demand for Navy atmosphere realism. Lol.

I had Chase Anastasio transfer in after the first season. Was cool to get someone I recognized from our recruiting.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, so I'll throw it out there:

I downloaded the rosters from www.ps2rosters.com a few days ago and they are definitely worth it. Only minor tweeks to the Ohio State team are necessary.

I used Max Drive to put the rosters on my memory card. Very nice device. It is a lot like the Muvo (sp?) Creative mp3 player in that it is a small cigarette-lighter sized device that plugs directly into the USB slot without a cord. The program that comes with the device connects to a community online that has posts of various files. the ps2rosters file is in this community, though you can also download it from the website. I had no problem transferring the files. The only downside to this device, though not that bad, is you need an included CD (the mini kind) to boot the PS2.

Just try to figure out this one... I went to play a dynasty game at Northwestern, and the stadium was right, but the playing field was LSU's. Huh?!
