what's also odd is that his ex-wife went by strassini when she died "suddenly" in 2009 and even before she died. it's just so odd how he had a preoccupation with an alter identity that others ended up assuming. i think if we had the full story, there would be enough for a book if not a short documentary.

My assumption is that he was born John Daley Strothers. After whatever cons/legal troubles he got himself into, he invented John Daley Strassini. It was under this name that he got married. Once shit went sideways in Charlotte, John Daley further evolved into Giovanni Daliente.

He's been running these cons for at least 25 years, so he likely has spun doctored/forged documents into authentic ones. Passport applications in this day and age are a completely different animal.
