Sure, we all know the committee will jump currently unranked Army up to #10 or so it they beat a 3-loss Tulane team that will probably drop out of this week’s rankings.

I have misplaced my pants.
It depends on your definition of “should”. According to me (THE most important opinion in sports, according to me), no one with 3 losses in the regular season should get into the playoffs. If only 11 (or fewer) teams have fewer than 3 losses, then more teams get byes.
And yeah- we all know the script. It’s as predictable (and entertaining) as an episode of “Growing Pains”, or some other 80s sitcom.

Talking about an at large invite, which was the context of last night’s game time commentary. But, yes the auto bid to the tournament/champion is just like basketball and doesn’t care about records.
