"Charles Barkley" and "limited ups" do not belong in the same sentence. Chuck had incredible leaping ability. But I agree that his jump shot, which later became deadly, wasn't much when he was at Auburn.DocJohn;1895725; said:... I realized the similarities: an undersized, wide-body with limited "ups" dominating the post against taller opponents. Sully is a young Charles Barkley ... with better feet and a better jumpshot.

The comparison stands though, and for those too young to remember, this is no insult to Sully. Barkley was a dominant big man for the [strike]Phoenix Suns[/strike] Philadelphia 76ers throughout the '80s and for the Suns in the early 90s. Perhaps the best BB player the state of Alabama (Auburn) ever produced.

agreed. barkley had absolutely jaw-dropping athleticism. i love sully and think the world of his talents, but barkley was at least two rungs up the ladder in terms of physical abilities. i doubt that we'll ever see sully throwing home thunderous one-handed dunks like charles did.MaxBuck;1895780; said:"Charles Barkley" and "limited ups" do not belong in the same sentence.
