I see fear in Kenny Smith's eyes when he stumbles to explain how to beat these Buckeyes. :biggrin:
I really think he's hoping Kentucky can beat us to avoid the embarrassing plunger-rape the Buckeyes "could" put on his beloved tar heels. Be afraid Kenny. Be VERY afraid.

"Bride of Chucky" Barkley, on the other hand, was visibly stunned and impressed by the Buckeyes performance against GM, but is just stubbornly unwilling to admit his mistake. Although he did mention in a later broadcast he did think the Buckeyes were the "most impressive team of the day", though still not willing to admit they have a chance to win it all.
I tend to give Chuck's stubbornness a bit of a pass though, because occasionally he comes up with some gems - ie. his unabashed support of VCU.
Also the "Round Mound of Rebound" gave Sully some uncharacteristic sage advice about how to deal with the regular double and triple teams he will continue to receive. "Sometimes the other team wins." Barkley said after the UTSA game. Now since most humans are not fluent in "Chuck-speak", allow me to translate. What he was telling Sully was that the freshman needs to quickly recognize the double-team, and realizing that his team is now 4 on 3, find the open shooter. The double-team "wins" by getting the ball out of your hands, but your team gets a wide open shot or a dunk. He's right. Sully often waits too long to kick the ball out when he's doubled. I really think Sully could easily average 3 or 4 assists a game if he did this (He avgs 1.2 a/g), making this team even better.
When he said that I realized the similarities: an undersized, wide-body with limited "ups" dominating the post against taller opponents. Sully is a young Charles Barkley ... with better feet and a better jumpshot.

Edit: Call me a "raaaaaaaaacist" but I'm sure I remember hearing a few times using both: "The Brown Round Mound of Rebound" But I did mean Mound.
The comparison stands though, and for those too young to remember, this is no insult to Sully. Barkley was a dominant big man for the Phoenix Suns in the late '80s. Perhaps the best BB player the state of Alabama (Auburn) ever produced.

"Charles Barkley" and "limited ups" do not belong in the same sentence. Chuck had incredible leaping ability. But I agree that his jump shot, which later became deadly, wasn't much when he was at Auburn.

agreed. barkley had absolutely jaw-dropping athleticism. i love sully and think the world of his talents, but barkley was at least two rungs up the ladder in terms of physical abilities. i doubt that we'll ever see sully throwing home thunderous one-handed dunks like charles did.
