http://jacksonville.com/sports/coll...-charlie-weis-and-aubrey-hill-hired-assistant

Sources close to the Florida program have confirmed that Muschamp has
hired former Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis as UF's offensive coordinator
and former UF receiver and current Miami assistant coach Aubrey Hill, and
Muschamp has also decided to retain current UF assistants Stan Drayton
and D.J. Durkin.

Hill has been Miami's receivers coach and recruiting coordinator for three
seasons. He was one of the three assistant coaches under Randy
Shannon that new UM coach Al Golden had decided to retain.

Aubrey Hill is a good get. Stealing the Canes recruiting coordinator gives us some entry into South Florida, where we are weak.

While looking for a picture of a fat alligator, I found this more appropriate picture for Charlie.

For this one post, let me put the Weiss jokes aside...

Gator, Weiss will amost certainly run a pro style offense. How's that going to go over after the success UM had?
Your one post has been completed. On with the frivolity....

and IMHO, while the Weiss posts were humorous, many of them weren't jokes. They were simply facts that happened to be funny. :tongue2:

Boom announced the pro-set offense well before the Fatman was announced as OC (it has been confirmed by the way).

It means that our personnel are not a perfect fit, we need to find some 225 pound half backs and that we might lose our two freshmen QBs unless they want to play tight end.

OTOH, maybe we will be able to punch in a fourth and one some day. We need us some big O-linemen more than ever. How this will fall out I cannot guess, but I think that it puts us off a few more years from being able to compete for the SEC Championship. A sucky SEC East may let us sniff Atlanta (depends if the Mutts keep Richt) as soon as next year, where Bama or some other West squad will kick our asses. Pigs are rising. LSU with a quarterback would be a problem. Bama is Bama.

http://www.gatorsports.com/article/...hamp-adds-2-retains-3-to-staff-Weis-confirmed

Muschamp has retained Gators' running backs coach/recruiting coordinator Stan Drayton,
tight ends coach Brian White and linebackers coach/special teams coordinator D.J. Durkin.
The new members to the staff are former UF standout Aubrey Hill, who will coach the wide
receivers, and Travaris Robinson, who will coach the UF secondary.

When Muschamp was introduced as UF's new coach on Dec. 14, he announced he was
retaining strength and conditioning coordinator Mickey Marotti.

I am happy to be retaining Marotti and Drayton and Durkin. Recruiting will not be totally torpedoed with them staying on. I like the new WR and secondary hires. Weis turned the Chiefs around in one year. He is maybe one of those guys who is a great assiatant - but who does not have the skill set to be a head coach. His less than sparkling personality is not that big a deal. I think our pathetic passing game will get better quick, and that he might be able to salvage Brantley's psyche with a system that lets him succeed more than our clusterfuck of a three headed QB monster.

I think Charlie is a guy who has the potential to impart some knowledge to the game, but it is all about the personalties of the staff, and egos. Maybe Boom is the guy to utilize him, I dunno....as Will knows nothing about offense, he will have full reign, and the buck stops at the fat man if our offense sucks.

So - to recap: Charlie F-ing Weis and a Leg Humper grad are running my Gators.

I just remembered that I own alcohol, so I gotta go...

Had not heard that. Hiring the Cheeseburger makes some sense to me then.

The cafeteria on the opposite corner from the stadium still has all-you-can-eat pizza as part of the deal, right? I remember seeing Spurrier drop in to grab food when I was there. Those poor bastards are going to have to rethink that policy. Charlie will put a massive hole in the budget otherwise. The Krispy Kreme up on 13th will make money hand over fist, too.
