So, if I were to breakdown and pick up a 360, solely for the purpose of playing Skyrim, would I better off with the $199 4GB model above, or would I need something with more memory?

(It seems that is only really important if you want to have your games saved to the system so it'll run faster. Is that correct?)

Would a GameStop refurbished one for $140 (512MB) do the trick?

Seriously, this game is the only reason I would buy the system. I don't even play video games (other than Zelda) any more.

Thoughts?

You're gonna want to install the game on the console. It's optional on the Xbox, but mandatory on PS3. As a PS3 player, I can't imagine what load times and performance would be like if I were playing completely from the disc. The install size for Xbox is 3.8 GB.

Is Skyrim on sale anywhere? I have looked, but no luck. That is pretty much the only game I don't own that I will eventually buy.

and no, $53 is not a sale. I thought Oblivion was ok, but I am not about to pay another $60 for that type of game. Yet people keep raving about it, so I feel like I have to play it. Yet it's a single player game on PC. I am not missing on leveling up, and more time gives modders a time to improve it. So I want to wait for it to go below $40.

If you're willing to wait a long time, I'd just hold out for the inevitable GOTY edition.

Last time I order from Gamestop, who cancelled their price mistake orders :shake: Newegg actually honored their $35 holiday pricing on Dual Shock controllers.

Anyone here know how low they get in terms of sale price?

Target in-store deal

$48 - Dualshock + God of War I + God of War II

Buy a $3 everyday item, like Pepsi, and use the $10 gift card for $50 purchase coupon, making it basically $40 for a $55 controller & two games.
The New Dualshock 3 Ultimate Combo Pack - God of War Origins Collection is available at Target B&M for $47.99. Good deal if you need a controller. Verified: $51+tax with a free $10 GC and 12 pk of a Pepsi product. The clerk wouldn't let me use the gift card on the same purchase. The DPCI is: 207-00-0122 if can't find on the shelf.

The controller sells for $43 on amazon Red
This is the new GoW collection and is $38 on amazonGoW Origins but I've seen it for around $25 elsewhere.

Target sells the game for $40 and the contoller for $50 in store. The retail on this new combo is $59.99.

Buy a filler like a 12pk of pepsi for $3 and use with the free $10 GC if you spend $50 instore FB coupon. coupon thread

Check store for combo Shows available at all stores in my area.

Note, this isn't an amazon link, so after adding it to your cart, come back to BP and click on an amazon link or ad.

Amazon has Saints Row: The Third (Xbox 360 or PS3) for $39.99 with free shipping. This game also qualifies for the Buy One Get One 50% off Promo.

For now:
Trade in values after you are done playing - 33.75 at amazon.com
