It's time to bring it!
I posted this on another site:
The gameplay and speed are definitely different, and I think it's a huge improvement. Also, the graphics of the sky, background, etc. were awesome. I couldn't get over thinking how cool the overall feel and gameplay were.
I started out on AA. I named the Ohio State and Michigan rosters and simmed the season to the game in the Shoe. HFA is really as cool as the hype. I even had the crowd cheering so loud when I was on offense that my own controller was shaking. I also noticed that the announcers say more unique names than before, such as Zwick and Whitner.
Passing is definitely tougher, but the zones will open up if you have enough time. Also, you have to keep checking the matchup sticks. I found that my starting WRs were against tough competition but my slot receiver had an advantage over the nickel and dimebacks. I also found that I have to throw more ropes for outs and crossing routs since the D converges quickly.
Running is improved but more realistic and more difficult. I don't think I broke a single run of 20 yards, but I did have 1 or 2 that were around 15+. I don't think that the defense uses a speed cheat, it really seems as though they take better angles. If any cheat is there, then I think it's only a vacuum-like effect when a defender gets to certain degree of close-ness.
The blocking for defense is also better. Your player still has a hard time to get out of a block, but they aren't glued to the OL. You can try spins and the like, while the OL will just sort of keep your guy in check. This is an excellent change and really adds a much greater sense of realism.
Also, EA really improved many gameplay animations and the results are sweet. Initially, I didn't even realize many of the new animations because the game flowed so smoothly. They must have revamped their collision system, because players now get their legs taken out from under them and the like.
