Game6 (yes, 6): Cavs at Celtics

Hell yeah. They need someone who can give them heart. This team had the pieces to win it all if they had a real head coach.

Seriously, make fun of Ron all you want but, can you imagine Stan Van Gundy coach of the Cavs the last 3 years?

Again, mark my words, Mike Brown will forever be known as the guy who let LeBron out of Cleveland. You can name the coaches on two hands who would have at least one, maybe 2 rings on their hand with the rosters Danny Ferry has put around Lebron.

That was one of the more pathetic endings to a game that I've seen.

I can't believe they surrendered trailing by single digits with a minute left in an NBA game. Stranger things have happened, and a season was on the line.

It benefitted the team I root for, but it's inexcusable for professionals. Brown, and role players with expendable contracts, should be fired.

Some will say let LeBron go. That would be a foolish, emotional reaction. The team will be worse without him.

So let's be real everyone...

Shaq won't be back, no answer for Dwight Howard.

Antawn Jamison's contract has been inherited and he proved to be TERRIBLE in the playoffs. His contract makes it impossible for the Cavs to bring in a top-flight free agent if LeBron re-signs.

The salary cap is 5 mil higher than anyone anticpated for next year, so the Knicks, Nets, and Clippers can offer 2 max deals. Chicago and Miami can also offer lucrative max deal offers.

The Cavs are still stuck with a roster that doesn't bring a title...if it didn't happen this year, it won't happen. I don't care what Jamal Mashburn says. Peace.

But "the Russian" bought the Nets so they'll be the Brooklyn Nets by 2014. And Jay-Z is a minority owner. And John Calipari may be their next coach for the second time b/c LeBron and Calipari are tight.

First question to Mike Brown should have been, "Mike, your team made a run in the second quarter when LeBron guarded Rondo....why didn't he get that chance in the second half?"

Or

"Antawn Jamison sucked the entire game, yet you let him play 8 minutes into the third and Boston took control of the game...what were you thinking?"

That Jamison trade will hurt. Without it, they could get Bosh and pair him with James. Get rid of Shaq and other dead weight.

The decision to get Shaq was dumb. Howard isn't THAT great. He's foul prone. He's a FT nightware.

They lost to Orlando b/c Lewis and the Turk were on fire. Not because of Howard. They could have just drafted DeJuan Blair and been a better team.

"Except for... well, except for the end, when we pretty much sat there and watched the clock run down. So I guess it's fair to say that the only time we didn't fight to the end was at the end of the game. Next question."

For as bad as NJ played this year they don't have that bad of a lineup. Add Lebron and Wall or Turner and they would be pretty good. I'm not sure who the Bulls would have to let walk to sign Lebron, but they have a good young team and I think Lebron would fit well. Miami has to let everyone walk to sign Wade and Lebron. They would have to rely on some other guys wanting to come play for the minimum to put together a winner. I don't know the west well enough to know where he would be a good fit, but if he wants to win he'll need to go someplace where they have a big that can challenge Howard. Really if he wants to win championships sign a 3 year deal with the Magic for the MLE.
Hopefully Gilbert can convince Lebron to come back and pick the coach he wants. I really don't think the roster is that far away with the right coach calling the shots. I'd let Z walk and bring Shaq back as a bench player if he would do it. Give me JJ and Andy playing 30-35 minutes a game and hopefully an improved Jamison with a full season. If Lebron leaves this is a first round losing playoff team next year.
