This also would be a perception of aggie

TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY
I live in a town the size of a piece of bacteria on a fly's ass. I spend Friday nights practicing my yells. I can whoop better than anyone can in my battalion. I beat up faggots, fish, and hunt for fun. If I'm not yelling, drinking with my battalion, or beating up fish and faggots for fun, I am at the Dixie Chicken. My father went to school here, just as his father did before him, and his father before him. My brother went to t.u. They never found his body after he came home that first Christmas in college. I won't walk on the grass. I look forward to the day I, too, will do the elephant walk. I believe it is cool to do something because they tell me it is tradition. If something is not a tradition and we accidentally do it, we then make it one. I can call UT t.u. if I want.
I am an Aggie.

Soooo...discount anyone from HornFans who calls you an aggy. They are actually grappling with the fact that we have to play a good team at the beginning of the season.

Hawk really run a 4.46 40?? If thats the case, that'd make him about the fastest linebacker in the last 10-15 years at any level. Derrick Johnson was about as fast as they come at linebacker in terms of straight-ahead or sideline-to-sideline game speed , and he averaged out a 4.52 at Pro Timing day. He felt he could have perhaps averaged under 4.5 at best, but his 4.5 was still well ahead of any one else at the LB spot. If A.J. can pull off a sub-4.5 for the electronically-timed, combine clocks, I'll be pleasantly shocked. If I sound like I'm skeptical to Hawk's time, its only because I know there are only a handle of guys that size that can run legitimate 4.5's and under. Matt Jones is one. Derrick Johnson is another. Seeing Hawk on film, there's no question he's one of the faster LB's in the country, and plays like it too, but so far, I can't say he looks faster than DJ, whom I only continue as a reference because he was one of the quickest guys to the ball I've ever seen for the LB spot. I'll look forward to seeing what Hawk runs for the scouts at the combine next year, as well as seeing him in action for this game come September.

HL, I came up 44% (barely) yankee. I'll post that in the open discussion board, so it doesn't clutter up this thread.

So if anyone wants to post their score, ya'll come on over there. :wink2:

I entirely disagree regarding tOSU being the biggest party school in the state. In fact, it's not even second in my mind, and that's just the schools that I've been to. I'd consider OU and Kent St. both ahead of tOSU when it comes to partying. And for the record, Texas isn't exactly a state known for its stellar academic institutions either.

Hawk's time was slightly faster than some of us expected, but I don't think he or the coaches were shocked. The times were hand-timed by NFL scouts at OSU. His times ranged from 4.46-4.50

Carpenter pulled off a 4.52 at that same combine, and on the top10 list on OSU's wall D'Andrea is listed at 4.46 which is definitely hand timed.

Here is the link
for OSU speed, strength, distance records

Here is the 40 yard dash records at OSU.
Current Players:
1. Richardson DE*
3. Frost TE
5. Mangold C*
6. Coleman TE
7. Q Pitcock DT*
10. Sims LT*

3. Carpenter LB* /D'Andrea
8. (our secret player )
10. Kudla DE*

2. Underwood CB
8. Everett CB*
10. Gonzalez WR* (3 WR sets, and don't ask why they can't spell)
11. Holmes WR* / Pittman RB*

* - Starter

TED GINN JR - he's never been tested. Tressel says there is no reason to do so. We may have to wait until pro day.

As you can see from these guys and the others, the players tressel has coached and trained dominate the list.

Well you are probably right about our academics, especially at the highschool level but UT is one of the top public schools in the nation and Rice rivals any school in the nation

honestly those times are fast, but you DO know that teddy lehman ran a 3.99 don't you?:wink2:

Teddy Ginn only ran a 4 flat, but he singlehandledly captured an iraqi insurgent leader on his way to the finish line.

Those times are inflated some, but at least its a way to compare OSU players, as I bet they try to keep the system the same.

we are yankees, columbus is home of the blue jackets the pro hockey team. ohio is home to more union generals in the civil war than anyohter state. one battle was actually fought in southern ohio, but we did have one company/regiment of rebs from ohio.

on the hawk 4.46-4.5 bobby carpenter at 6ft 264lbs ran a 4.52, he is the son of the former houston oiler.
