Um. Er. Well....shit. Damn it BKB, I'd like to state my OWN opinion just once!

stupid quick-typing SOB always reading posts and voicing my opinion like it's his. This is bullshit, I need to take some stupid "how to type faster" lessons...

I work right in the middle of downtown Columbus, and let me tell you that the Texas fans have arrived.

They are driving up and down the roads (High St., Broad St., etc.), hanging out the windows yelling "TEXAS!" over and over again with their burnt orange flags and everything.

I hope all Texas fans aren't this juvenile...

Wow! You'd think there was a big game coming up or something!

Just be glad the Aggs aren't coming to town.

Buckeye DL versus Longhorn OL is the matchup I'll be keeping an eye on. The keys there will be keeping the running lanes closed up and the OL occupied so that the LBs and safties can make plays.

Texas is going to run the ball, that much is obvious. Stopping that begins with the DL. I agree with tennis that rotation will be important -- the second teamers really need to step up.

Another key point to watch will be Texas on third down. This is an offense that's done well with third down conversions. Lots of people think this will be a low scoring game, so winning the field position battle is going to be critical, which means getting UT into a lot of third and long situations and stopping them. I think the crowd can make their biggest impact at those times.

Of course a failed third down attempt should mean that Ginn and Holmes get a crack at a punt return. It's always possible that Texas would go for a fourth and short when around midfield, but I suspect that Mack will go with a more conservative approach and have the punter go out of bounds.

Finally, something that's rarely been mentioned in any of the threads on this game: TURNOVERS. The final result will be determined by a critical turnover or two -- either one team will turn the ball over in the red zone and fail to score, or a team will give the other an easy 3 (or 7) by turning the ball over in their own end of the field. There will be a small swing from a fumble or INT, and I'll be a homer and say that the swing will be in OSU's favor. Either VY throws a pick at the wrong time, or one of those Freshmen RB for Texas puts the ball on the ground.

To give our good Texas visitors the flip side: if UT takes care of the ball, converts a high percentage of third downs, and their OL dominates the line of scrimmage, they'll go back to Austin with a W.

I really think that this game is won or lost when their O and our D are on the field, which is just the way we like it around here.

I think Vick's stats speak for themselves. As well as the results.

2004, 56% completion rate, 14 TD's with 12 picks. Avg for top ten QB's 2004 was 66% completion, 29 TD's and 12 picks.

But he's a playmaker with his legs..

46 sacks, the 12 picks above along with 16 fumbles.

Combine his rushing and passing yards and he's still only 15th amongh QB's last year.
Seriously. Take off your cowboy hat and realize you are saying that your QB is better than Michael Vick. Just let that sink in. He may win the game for you, he may run for 300 yards, but Michael Vick is revolutionizing the game off football IN THE NFL.

If the guy's 270, I have a hard time believing that our quick LBs won't be on his back by the time he gets to the line of scrimmage.

He has the tackle busting ability of Jim Brown, the moves of Barry Sanders, and the speed of Michael Vick...our LBs aren't going to be near him

Don't underrate him. He has the tackle busting ability of Vince Young, the moves of Vince Young, and the speed of Vince Young.
