Game Thread Game Two: Texas 25, Ohio State 22 (final)

I was pretty happy to hear that these guys were getting this game. BM's Holy Buckeye call summarized the entire 2002 regular season -- if only he'd gotten the nod for the Fiesta as well. Fouts was horrible, and Jackson only managed to redeem himself with the broadcast signoff. It's a shame that such a great, great football game was fumbled by the guys in the booth.

Musberger has a flair for the dramatic, which is what you want with a game this big. He will make some calls that we'll remember for years, for better or for worse. I'd much rather have his over-exuberance than the indifference or even hostility that some other announcers have.

Some Texas fan have that same picture, but with Texas up like 50something to 3. It has the same picture and everything but with like 57 yrds passing 0td's and like 3 picks. Although, in both pictures its actually Justin Zwick

:osu:

actually look again that pic clearly says(well maybe not clearly)

10 Smith,Troy

Comp./Att.
19/33

Yards
341

Long
81

TD/INT
3/2

but like another poster said "you really think the game would go long enough for the sun to come up" or in my mind to go down, the game doesn't even start until 8:00, by then it will already be dark

I think we should come out with both Zwick and Smith in the huddle and backfield on the first drive. Can you imagen the confusion it would casue the Texas Defense? Have both in the backfield it would drive TU nuts!!!
They would probally use one of their time outs before the first snap.

I've gotta believe that of the folks in Texas that are selling their tickets, well over 90% of them will be selling to other Texas fans.

Did they sell them on ebay or another site saying "Texas fans only." I doubt it. Overall assuming 10% of tickets are sold, and sold to anyone, then here are the stats assuming 50% buy Ohio vs. UT (unlikely, more like 70-30 Ohio). So, 5000 UT Tickets. 500 sold, with 250 to OSU and 250 to UT. Then, 101,000 to OSU and 10,100 are sold. 5,050 to OSU and UT. That would mean less than 10,000 for UT fans (9,800).

Not sure of the real sale after, but my guess is that the ones sold over the internet are only in the 11,000 range. The rest sold would be local and to the same fans. This may make your 90% correct, but the same could be said for OSU fans. Anything over 10,000 seems unlikely for UT fans.

The Herd show

I am not going to get any work done today. So I was wondering what others are doing for today. I read somewhere that the Herd show will be from Buckeye Hall of Fame. Does anybody know about that? I might as well go to BHOF instead of going to school and reading BP.

I love it.....I think it's pretty safe to call us the media's underdog.

Didn't Herb and Corso pick y'all to go all the way ?? Honestly, all these guys are hacks. They can go on history, gut feeling, stats & it don't mean jack. With these teams, there is no history, just speculation as to what will happen. Ready to see 'em line up & get after it. \m/
