Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

Thanks

Thanks for posting your prediction. That was the most thorough explanation received so far!

In fact, I have now realized that I need to add some formatting options since your reasoning was so detailed. I'll be sure to add that in time for next week's predictions.

To be honest, I don't really know what's going to happen today. My prediction is based mainly on the Longhorns being good at home. Although I think it will be a close game, I have prepared myself for a surprise. These teams are very different from the two that met last year, so it's very hard to tell until it all plays out. My main worry is how Colt McCoy will handle the pressure of such a huge game. Last year, it was predicted that the winner of the game would go on to the national championship (this was correct). The winner of this year's battle will probably be in the national championship as well.

Dunno how we're gonna survive that Texas heat...

Laugh all you want (as you should) but last Saturday it was 104 and my daughter, who is a cheerleader, collapsed on the sidelines from heat exhaustion.

How shitty is this? I am in LA shooting commercials--I'm missing the whole party AND I'm going to miss a lot of the first half, cause we'll still be shooting.

Sounds good, and I agree the fact that this game is in Texas will make it that much tougher, however, from what I've heard is that there will be plenty of buckeye fans there trying to make it as much of a neutral field for us. I've got faith in our fans and that Troy won't let any noise bother him tonight. I just think this game will boil down to our offense warning the rest of the nation of what we're capable of and letting this defense begin to gel with each other big time, so by the end of the season they'll be one of the better defenses in the nation!

I also agree with your opinion that the winner of this game goes onto the NC game, both of these teams are very very talented!

It was a sultry night in Texas at kickoff. The Texans relaxed in their foolhardy belief that they were safe. After all, they had curled up, night after night, in the fetal position and sucked their thumb raw until they believed, to the core of their being, that everything was bigger in Texas. They had fond memories of a lucky, lucky break in Columbus the year before and were lulled into a false sense of security as disaster creeped up behind them. But today, OSU has a score to settle.

I know what the deal is. I started my doctorate at the lame, wanker school where they think everything is bigger. But I finished my doctorate narry a football field away from the great horseshoe, where legends are born and the death of UT simmers, waiting to explode.

Oh, there will be blood shed. There will be a mighty battle. And the great school where I began my advanced studies will learn what it is to face imminent defeat from the school that completed my studies. I have seen them both and know their hearts. And so when I say

OH
can someone give me an . . .
