I don't know much about the tOSU kicking situation, but I do know J. Huston was responsible for 16 of tOSU 22 points. Im not saying UT's G. Johnson is going to be All american, but he does have some game experience. Is tOSU going with one of your Fr.
For all the attention beamer gets for his kick blocking, tressel deserves quite a bit of credit for his specialists. His philosophy is the punt is the most important play in football, and devotes extra scholarships (would have had 3 PK's on schollie if Skeete had not been Skeete) to those positions.
Punter: All-American Groom, followed by Ray Guy winner Sander, followed by two very solid punters in Turano and Trapasso (who is returning).
Kicker: All-American Nuge, Groza semi-finalist Huston, and two more promising kickers in Pettrey and Pretorius.
Pretorius is a 27-year old former rugby player from South Africa. He is very consistent, with a good leg.
However, Pettrey looks to be the heir apparent. He is very consistent (in practice), and seems to have a bigger leg than both Huston and Nuge. This will be especially useful with the change to the kicking tee next year.
For details on Pettrey, including his clutch 59 yarder (he can hit 60 yarders with regularity) at the end of the kick scrimmage (a JT specialty), click here:
