Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

:osu3: I'm a long time watcher....first time poster. I'm I the only one who is annoyed by Bob Davies and his obvious bias to Notre Dame? This just in Bobby boy......Vince Young left Texas. He's in the NFL now.

What a great game. A defense that graduated 9 starters held the #2 team in the country to 7 points in their own house......scary!!!

Go Bucks.

OK now for the other one. Texas was everything they really advertised on both sides of the ball. And the game was well played by both teams as it was supposed to be. Besides all the offense stars the Bucks had dont forget to include Trepasso for a truly outstanding punting game.
Great game Buckeyes thank you.

"Oh come let's sing Ohio's praise
And songs to Alma Mater raise
While our hearts rebounding thrill
With joy which death alone can still
Summer's heat or winter's cold
The seasons pass the years will roll
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO! "

yep, good people. and they have nothing to be ashamed of tonight. they have a great team and they played their hearts out tonight.

before we played texas i had 0 interest in them. after these two games i have trumendous respect for their fans, team, and staff. i love the way they play football. they have fast, tough, hard hitting, intelligent kids. i wish em luck with their season.

I agree, and I don't lavish praise lightly, but I'll say that before last year I thought Texas was kind of an enemy in a way, based on what I had heard and seen from certain players. However, after the last 2 years, and listening to the posters around here, I think Texas and Ohio are states with very similar fabric, and football is a major part of every community, big and small. They have similar talent, traditions, love for the game, and respect for the game as we do. Other than the games themselves between us, I now feel Texas and Ohio State are very much on the same side, if you will.

Bravo.

Congrats on a great win over Texas! On a day when the Big 10 really struggled, you guys made the conference proud by stomping the national champs at THEIR stadium.

Well done, Buckeyes! I must admit I'm relieved that Wisconsin does not have to play you this year.

Thanks! and so is Purdue!:osu:

Great game, great gameplan, great execution; no way I could have asked for a more perfect outcome. Kudos to Texas and their classy fans, am very curious to see posts trickle in from those lucky enough to be at the game. I bet we find out that almost without exception they were treated with respect and good natured gamemanship while there. Good luck to Texas rest of season unless we end up playing em again :) I saw our D grow up almost overnight, shutting up the doubters out there about how effective they might end up being. :oh:
