Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

He must be a good actor then. Because the people interviewing have commented that he's seemed pretty laid back this week.

Yeah, maybe. One wonders if maybe he believes what he said about last week being a big game (since it was his 1st College game).... I would imagine it'd be easy to play in a game like that and say, "Hmmm... reminds me of High School.. what's the big deal?"

I don't know.. Chad Henne seemed to be "cool and collected" before getting thrown around the Shoe when he was a Frosh..

I'm not so sure he'll be nervous. From all his interviews this week, Colt doesn't sound like he's intimidated or nervous about this week's game. A lot of orangeblood's seem to think he learned a lesson or two from VY last year on how to be calm and cool during big games.

You really think that a just-turned-20-yesterday kid playing in his second college game ever is going to be calm, cool, and collected in the biggest regular season game of the year? Would you be interested in some stock in the Hawaii-California PanPacific Bridge?

i've said it before on this thread and I'll say it again. Colt is going to surprise most buckeyes only because most it seems like buckeye fans have such low expectations for him this weekend. Is he going to play like a 5th year senior? No. But is he going to play like someone starting in his second college game? I don't think so either.

Time will tell, but from what I understand, McCoy didnt come from the biggest of HS in the world, and I'm telling you what, UNT aint OSU. I expect McCoy to make some Freshman mistakes (Which, by the way, he did make some in the UNT game, but the UNT athletes weren't good enough to capitalize.)

I will agree with this, I think that he will make a believer out of many doubters....which is why I think this game will be close, if McCoy looks like a freshman then we are in trouble because there will be 8 and 9 men fronts all day long

Like I said, he's not going to play like a 5th year senior. Heck, even VY had 3 turnovers last year. I just don't think he's going to come out with a deer-in-the-taillight and throw INT after INT.

This game will be a step up in every way for Colt. Sure, he goes against a great defense in practice but theres a big difference between practice speed and game speed, and practice intensity and game intensity, and North Texas and Ohio State. He could have knitted a sweater and enjoyed a refreshing beverage in the time he had to throw last week. Lets see how he does when things dont go perfectly and he starts getting hit.
