Stadium expansion model: 115-120k seating capacity.

DKR I believe has the largest structural dimensions (height, width, length, etc) of any stadium in the country, therefore the "expansion" is not so much the building up of the current stadium to bigger and better things as some stadiums across the country, but rather fulfilling the potential of the existing architecture. As you can see from the model pic, the completed product looks infinitely more symetrical, and well, complete than the current stadium's monolithic, mock-horseshoe design. Not only does this seem to complete the stadium's true potential, but it also easily, surpassing the largest current stadiums' design capacities, validating its inherently superior dimensions, all without creating additional stadium perimeter or height. I guess everything is bigger in Texas. Or at least it will be. :) Bout damn time....

Reminds me of Michigan Stadium.

IMO, in head coaching we've got the advantage, and in assistant coaching you guys do.
I was really impressed with your defense last year--your new coordinator is a keeper, unless you lose him to a head coaching job, which he deserves IMO. As for Brown, I haven't heard many commentaries of people thinking he's a better coach now than he was last year; the only thing I've heard is that he is able to win the big game, whereas this time last year people didn't think he was able to. IMO when the games were on the line last year, VY's superior talent and improvisation won the games, not Brown's coaching.

 seriously? The new DKR is a thing of beauty, towering yet slick exterior, gorgeous architecture (brick, glass), tons of press boxes, etc. How does that compare to a 20 ft tall stadium with no architectural style, a round bowl inside and a tiny press box?

Look at the model. Obviously Texas' stadium will be much nicer but that bowl shape reminded me of Michigan's.

I don't think the stadium will have that much of a bowl shape. The plan is to bring the end zone seating in toward the end zone, and in the process it will be squared off at the corners. They would have to destroy part of the existing East and West stands to make a Michigan style bowl, and that won't happen.

I agree xrayrandy, the design in my opinion is much more kin to Notre Dame Stadium, except with one massive upperdeck, and a secondary, less pronounced, encircling upperdeck. Very cool IMO; some of the best of what the great big stadiums offer, with a retention of Texas flavor and Royal-Memorial, granite/brick architecture.
