another team throws it away at the end of the game........ good job Fresno State you played well but i dont know bout forcing that pass in the endzone for that last INT of the game.

as i've stated before, i think that next week's game against ucla is the one that matters. if usc loses to ucla, ucla (or oregon?) will represent the pac 10 in a bcs game, while usc will probably take the second at-large bid (the first being notre dame's). a usc loss would have been better for us, though. if usc had lost today and would lose next week, they would be out of the bcs picture. we really, really need usc to win next week. we also are rooting for a stanford victory over notre dame. i honestly think that stanford will give notre dame some fits.

Got to agree with that. If it wasn't for that crap quarterback, Fresno might have been Fres*hell*yes!
Two big touchdowns, enough to win the game, were negated by terrible reads by Fresno's QB. It really is too bad; I would have loved to have seen Texas v. Penn State for the national championship. Here's to UCLA next week!!! It could still happen... maybe! Gotta keep the faith.

no, no, no. unless someone can tell me otherwise, a ucla victory is the very worst for ohio state. if usc loses, usc will not represent the pac 10 in a bcs bowl game, and usc will then probably become the most appealing at-large selection after the irish. we definitely want the trojans to win next week... not that our cheers and wishes mean anything. man, a usc defeat would be terrible for us. you might as well be rooting for ohio state to play in the outback or capital one bowl.

True that. I knew it would take a miracle, not even for Fresno to go back ahead, but to stay ahead. Anyone saying that the 2005 USC team is one of the best of all time should pass the bong...their offense is really good, but their defense probably doesn't rank in the top 2,000 of all time. Bush is amazingly fast, and very shifty, and Leinart can throw a decent intermediate ball, but I think White is what actually puts them over the top. If Texas can play D at all with USC, they will handle them easily.

I was very impressed by the USC defense. Fresno state only gave them 5 turnovers, and still USC held them to a mere 42 points. :tongue2:
The Heisman race is now almost a dead heat between Reggie Bush and Vince Young. Reggie had almost 300 rushing yards last night, and 513 total yards, including returns.
But he did carelessly fumble a kickoff that allowed Fresno to take the lead with less than 10 minutes left. Heisman voters need to wait and see the last games played out, and then evaluate the entire season for both players.
At least Leinart will do no better than third now, so Archie's unique accomplishment is safe this year.
I'm torn between Bush and Young. If Bush wins, that's 7 total for USC, (putting them into a tie with ND and ahead of tOSU's 6). But Bush will certainly go pro this year. If VY wins it, and comes back like he says he will, then we'll have to sweat out next year where he'll be the returning favorite.

you're underestimating the fact that when #33 is starting next year, The Animal will be standing on the sidelines in full dress. His son will knock him out of bounds right into his father for a tag team takedown.
Bush deserves the heisman. I love VY, but I really don't understand how you can't give it to Bush. VY has been corralled somewaht during one game. I realize these aren't the best defenses, but when is the last time you saw anyone put up 500 all purpose yards?
Texas is absolutely going to destroy USC. Their defense is so bad it's hilarious. They are worse than the 04 UM d.
