i'm not even sure that it will matter if virginia tech wins out. the loss today is absolutely horrible. osu's two losses are much better (or worse, depending on how you consider it) than virginia tech's one loss today. if the pollsters aren't myopic, they will recognize that, too. it's precisely because of this situation that it would be better for osu to have the score differential included.

again, if miami continues to dismantle virginia tech, vt will severely drop in the human polls. and rightly so.

LSU
Bama
VTech
Miami (if they lose to FSU)

Only things that worry me

1) An undefeated Bama team losing to a 1 loss UGA team in the SEC game. That puts us in direct competition with a 1 loss Bama team and a 2 loss ND team for those two at large spots.

OR Bama losing the regular season game to LSU and being a 1 loss team at the end of the year.

2) A 1 loss VT team staying in the BCS top 6. IIRC the KState rule is that a team has to be selected if they finish BCS top 6 no matter how shitty they travel.

3) Miami loses the ACC game to FSU and has 2 losses but stays ahead of us in the BCS due to VT's vast overratedness.

Still a lot to be worked out but those are the only things I can see potentially screwing us if we run the table.

I say get rid of #3. No way Miami stays ahead of OSU. #2 is a reach, but possible. The Bama thing worries me. They are not good, but 1 loss in the SEC is tough to beat.

Luckily I think most realize that OSU has lost a heartbreaker to the #2 (possible #1 team) and another top 5 team on the road. The pollsters will help OSU outside of the ND love.

Agreed. Va Tech was exposed tonight for being a decent team that ran up a good record by playing against inferior teams. By getting totally blasted at home, they clearly showed that they don't belong in the NC picture. My only question now is where is that Va Tech fan who was claiming that we'd lose to WVU? :slappy:
