Taking, losing control

Badgers' upset bid falls short

BY JEFF POTRYKUS

Wisconsin's quest to stun No. 1 Ohio State, alive and well midway through the third quarter, disappeared in a span of 12 minutes. A seven-point lead quickly deteriorated into a 38-17 loss to the Buckeyes, a loss that revealed Ohio State as the tougher, deeper and more talented Big Ten team. Go to Story ? | Box ? | Poll ?

Brian Hartline sophomore wide receiver
On trailing 17-10
"Kirk (Barton) gave us a talk. He is a senior and a real leader on this team. He told us this was the time to step up."
On playing Wisconsin
"Teams that have lost a game can sometimes have an advantage. They know that feeling of a loss and they don't want to repeat it. If you're a team that has not lost you can't get comfortable or someone will beat you."

Notre Lame must be the most dangerous team in the nation, then! :tongue2:

BTN didn't show Robo running out of bounds on his non-touchdown play.
Anyone care to comment? Did he run out or was forced out?

From what I remember, i dont think the ball was in control "in" the endzone. But that is from my Bud Light/Captin Morgan infested brain at the time :)

The ref called it inelligible reciever down field because someone on the end was uncovered iirc. No replays and no discussion from BTN crew so who the fuck knows.

I saw that Beanie was open there too... couldn't figure that one out!?!?!

BTW who the hell was illegally down field on that TD pass to ROBO?

Are they saying ROBO stepped out or what? I wasn't real clear who they actually called it on.

Never mind I went back and looked at it and the WR (ROBO) was on the line and there was a TE (Nicol) on the end of the line on the same side and went out to run a pattern too...Robo should've stepped off the line.

After looking back during the game we were lined up wrong and sent an illegal receiver out for a pass....DVR clarification.

Well... if we want to start throwing a few more superlatives Beanie's way...

We were undefeated in '95 at Camp Randall... the Whisky more or less shut down Hoying, Glenn & Co.... we were losing... oh... by 3 or 4 pretty well into the 4th Quarter and some guy named Eddie George Ripped off about a 50 yard TD run to take the lead and another to seal it...

Same kind of feel this week... huge performance by the OL... Beanie...

Wow.

Anyone else notice that right before Beanie's first TD run... that it seemed like they were setting up to hit Wisconsin deep... the wisky D was just pinning its ears back every play... so... I think we ran a couple screen/draw type things... and... then the reverse/end-around before the TD got about 9 yards... and... it almost felt like throwing deep was too obvious at that point... so... almost had to run again, get a first down and pound on them a bit more... and... well... no matter....

That fumble that was reviewed and reversed. Good call or bad call?

100% correct.

I keep seeing the "our Defense was exhausted by the end" excuse from the Badger faithful.

I would like to just point out that if your players didn't spend so much time and energy trash talking, they wouldn't have been so near exhaustion and maybe could have just played football instead.

Between all of the Miami style taunting and Randle El's blatant attempt to injure Gholston its hard to have any respect for BB or his team. When you add in his scheduling habits, public stance on not playing road games at night and his weak ass attempts to get his criminal player's punsihment lifted so he could play in this game it becomes impossible.

#11, Deandre Levy, stood out to me as the biggest little bitch for them. Fuck Bucky. :pissed:
