When people recount this tale, I hope it's accurately represented as a battle, in spite of the final score. Unfortunately you have people who are ignorant or have agendas (a couple here probably), who will unfairly misrepresent because that's their less evolved nature.
Anyways, good game to those who could have a civil discourse this week. I was correct in believing that a team who had "difficulty" with the Citadel and UNLV would cause the #1 team in the nation to sweat.
The difference was Wells taking over on the ground, the OSU pass rush, and a couple breaks going OSU's way. When the ball bounced off the Buckeye coverage member you were very fortunate that caromed directly to your returner. Otherwise, the Badgers are in prime position. Also, Bret Bielema just made a boneheaded decision with the fake punt deep in our territory. I'm sure it caught OSU by surprise, but it was poorly designed, and put the Buckeyes in immediately in field goal range when they Badgers were obviously still in striking distance. That was a gimme. Not to mention numerous penalties and some very unfavorable field position situations. The Buckeyes would have won anyways, however we're probably talking about a one score differential approximately instead. When you're trying to pull the upset, you need to get takeaways, and play mistake free. The opposite occurred ironically here. The Buckeyes knew the Badgers were being immensely aggressive, so they ran a couple counters shrewdly. The defensive line terrorized our offensive line at times, however they held enough to allow us substantial plays in both run/pass.
Exciting for a while......Good luck the rest of the season.
