Game Thread Game Ten: Ohio State 38, Wisconsin 17 (final)

I feel terrible for those of you who did not see today's game because of the Big Ten Network.

But for those of us who are at a point in our lives when we can simply change TV providers because of a situation like this; today was incredible.

Instead of a quick cut-away to the 3:30 game, I got to see:
  • The Mid-Field Prayer
  • Carmen Ohio
    • Tressel was clearly choked-up
  • LIVE coverage of the post-game presser
    • Tressel still choked-up (did this game mean something to him or what?)
  • a half-hour of post-game (maybe a little more) of post-game coverage
Again, I hate that some great Buckeye fans didn't see the game today. But holy crap was that an awesome way to bask in the victory. You just don't get that from games on the Disney family of networks.

It was - quite moving :osu:

Overall I think the team showed a lot of character today and the coaching staff made great adjustments during the game to get things back on track. These types of games are good for the team, maybe a little stressful for the fans, but in the long run knowing that they can come from behind like this will help their overall confidence. I'll admit I was concerned when they scored 14 quick points, and did it in the shoe, but the team or the staff never panicked and changed the game plan.

Beanie had a helluva day, Todd seems to be too happy to throw but when the attack balanced out the run was amazing. Todd did what he needed to when it mattered though, those runs for first down in thirds were key to the comeback and eventual destruction of Wisconsin. Maybe now we'll get a little respect from the media? I know, that's asking too much, honestly I hope they continue to doubt us every week it gives the team a lot of motivation. Not that they really need motivation, the coaches do a great job of that, but every little bit helps.

Next week we get the Zook, last year Illinois was one of our toughest regular season opponents, and I am sure they will have this game for film study, but I don't think Juice Williams has near the accuracy of Donovan, however his run attack will definately be something to spy. But that's for next week, for now, I am happy to have the win.

I do hope that all of you who faltered in your faith , that lost heart when things were going badly have learned a lesson.
Never Doubt the team, never lose heart, never give up. That is what the team did today. In the face of adversity , against a very motivated, well coached team Our team showed it's mettle, its character and its guts.
we as fans should never do any less lest we lose the right to be fans of

They also showed the complete Script Ohio during their pre-game show...

Bielema clearly is from the Lloyd Carr school of whining and bitching at the refs. I felt like he didn't show much class on the sidelines.

Also, at several points throughout the game it seemed like Wisconsin players faked injuries in an attempt to affect momentum or quiet the crowd (or both). The players injured would lay on the ground for a minute or two and then get up and run off the field. It happened at least 2 or 3 times. It seemed a little fishy to me.

Strange game. Game MVP's-

Offense: Beanie

Defense: Gholston

No fucking questions asked. Animal gets runner-up for defensive MVP. He made some nice tackles.

It seems we still have some issues covering TE's. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

Donovan is a tough SOB. Kudos to him for his effort.

O-line was actually challenged today.

I'm still a bit shocked TB threw the ball 21 times in the first half. It was the complete opposite in the 2nd.

I'm going to miss Robo so much when he leaves. Circus catch after circus catch. He's a joy to watch.

Wiscy did an excellent job on punt coverage. Small had nowhere to go.

Overall, this game was a little disconcerting but I hope it's just a combination of us showing the affects of coming off a big road win and Wiscy bringing their A game.

20 straight Big-10 wins!! Suck on that, scUM.
