Game Thread Game Ten: Ohio State 38, Wisconsin 17 (final)

This game (so far) comes down to the offensive line and something Archie Griffin said in an interview on the BTN pre-game show.

Arch was talking about 01-08-07, and said that The Game took so much out of both OSU and mich; and that Woody had always said, "You can't get up for two games in a row".

The OL was the "highest" that I've seen them in a long time against Penn State. They played with more emotion than they've shown all year. And that was after paving the way for 200+ by Beanie the week before.

If the OL can get some fire back for the second half, and if TB can find his rhythm again; we'll still win by 3 scores or more.

The D will continue to dominate.

Well since the game isn't on here......how are we looking? I see that we've had several penalties which set us back. besides that....how are we looking?

The teams that have hurt Wisconsin with their running game this year have done so with speed to the corner. I believe that, after running C-C with few exceptions during the first half, that we can start beating them to the outside.

"How many more shots"? Huh? Three plays...that's all. Now, if we run on first down and get stopped, we still get to tun on second down with over 20 seconds remining and our two TOs. If that run doesn't score, call TO with maybe 15-20 seconds left...one TO left. Run again on third down, and if that doesn't score let the clock run down until 2-3 seconds left, call the last TO, and then kick the FG. With the ball first and goal on the five, the field is too compressed to keep messing with pass plays. Plus, on first down, Boeckman faked a pitch to Beanie before he passed, and Beanie was wide open...Wisconsin was essentially ignoring him, covering the pass.

I saw that Beanie was open there too... couldn't figure that one out!?!?!

BTW who the hell was illegally down field on that TD pass to ROBO?

Are they saying ROBO stepped out or what? I wasn't real clear who they actually called it on.

Never mind I went back and looked at it and the WR (ROBO) was on the line and there was a TE (Nicol) on the end of the line on the same side and went out to run a pattern too...Robo should've stepped off the line.

The line isn't the problem.. Todd's got good protection and whenever he's started scrambling around its because people aren't getting open. Wisconsins back 7 is doing a nice job, but we're making it pretty predictable on what we're going to do. I know we have more confidence in Todd than we ever have, but our best weapon is beanie and he needs the ball 15 times in the second half. He's been ripping off 4-10 yards bout every time

Tight game. Have I mentioned that I hate BTN? I am listening to OSU radio (a bit delayed because of the streaming) while watching the live stats on CBS sportsline (about a play ahead of the radio) and trying to catch what you all are talking about and I keep accidentally closing windows along the way. But it works so I can't really complain. Sure wish I could watch the game though, dammit! I figured this would be a tough game, It always is with Wiscy for some reason. Go Bucks!!

Overall the Bucks aren't looking bad we just have had a few penalties that have screwed us up. Beyond that first drive the Defense has been good, constant stops, hard hits and lots of pressure. Offensively we're relying too much on the pass but I have a lot of faith in Tressel and expect that to change.

Wiscy isn't doing a whole lot, like I said they had one good drive, and that required a fake punt, so we are doing what we do, Wiscy just has been good on the coverage.

I noticed that too. We need to be balanced.....not pass heavy. Anyway, I'm sure the players and coaches will adjust in the 2nd half...as they always do.

they probably have the best corners in the Big Ten not wearing Scarlet and Gray...

considering we've passed 21 times in the first half, i would like to see a draw play in the second half...

Good call, as they've shown a lot of play-action in the first half, but no draws that I can recall.

Apart from that though, I want to see us beat them to the corner. Their LBs have been beaten to the outside by all of the good rushing teams they've played.

my first impression too, was basically to try and push through with four runs. maybe JT is trying to give some different looks, but i can't really say because i'm not watching the game on TV - the radio broadcast is one-dimensional that way...

there were six plays after TB's completion to Hartline. one was the td that was called back and the last was the FG.

time to go watch lou "schmack" talk ntre ame.
