Game Thread Game Ten: Ohio State 38, Wisconsin 17 (final)

Living in ALabama is fucking funny these days. I have a friend in the subdivision where I live that has Buckeye flags everywhere. There is more OSU shit than AUBURN and Bama. These halfwits hate that shit. They have commented many times about the NC game. My friend and I ask how many losses Bama, Florida, and Auburn have. Then they bring up their schedule...we say fuck you cannot beat half the tough teams you play...I wouldn't brag about that shit too much. Then we say why in the hell do you guys want a playoff when the teams in your conference are so fucking erratic from week to week. The lack of consistency and discipline is very evident...by this point these fucking idiots are ready to cry. Then we brought up the fact the only team worth a shit that these guys played out of conference they fucking lost too(South Florida and FSU). SEC dominance my ass and then we start die laughing...At this point they are crying and have drool coming down their mouths because they are too fucking inbreed to come up with anything as a rebutal.

from the Vandy-Florida prediction in the same column: Vandy, however, will rack up alarming numbers, too, simply because Florida's secondary spends most of its time fighting invisible bees and staring directly at the sun.

Yeah? Um.....well.....ahhhh......I'd say.......um.

...Back to the original thread topic, Tressel will run it up...

As I mentioned earlier and it is worth repeating. Run it up the flag pole and show them a beating that they'll tell their grandchildren about. I hope they still feel the bruises when this happens. Have I made myself clear? I hate Wisfuckingchesseheadsconsin.

These guys need to lose and lose bad - the most humiliating, overwhelming, crushing, one-sided beat down ever. Defeat them so that they will never want to return to Ohio. Put them in their place and end this curse. Return the Badgers to the holes and spank them within inches of their life.

OSU - Wisconsin Media Guide

Found this on tOSU's main page. It looks like the media guide for the Wisconsin game:

http://www.nmnathletics.com/fls/17300/pdf/fb/07-release.pdf

It's 47 pages, and gives all kind of info. Found this interesting and ironic. On page 33, it lists the defensive team stats. Guess who is on top of the list. #33 Laurinaitis with 66 tackles. It even has on there AJ Trapasso's tackle.

Next page has on there OSU player stats compared to the national leaders in those specific categories.

I could look at these numbers for hours. I find it very useful info. Have fun!!

we get the kids we WANT from Glenville... Although I do wish we would've taken a chance on Jefferson. Glenville has 3-5 D-1 kids every year and we can't accept them all so thats just the hard part. We'll get the players we want from that school.

Also... I get the big ten network so sorry fella's or else I'be be cussing (fuck, shit, damn?) right along with you.

I'm actually happy this game is at 12 noon... cuz now I don't gata wait all damn day to see the bucks play.

We didn't run up the score this year against them. 2nd string was in as of halfway through the 1st quarter, and 3rd string came in in the 2nd. During the 4th quarter, I think that was our scout team because I didn't recognize a single player. Northwestern just couldn't stop us.

What game(s) were you watching?

Coqui;978815; said:
I simply meant that when we last played them, they didn't have the ability to even stop our reserves. I don't count it as running up the score if the starters aren't on the field. That's just a lack of execution on the opposing team.

MililaniBuckeye;978907; said:
The why did Tressel bring his first-team offense back on the field after NW returned the second-half kickoff for a touchdown? We were still up by 38 points. I'll tell you why...JT wanted to tell them, "How dare you fucking score on us." There was no other reason for us to answer that score as quickly as we did but to bitch-smack them back down on the ground. Had we been up on Indiana or Minnesota or Iowa 45-0 at half and then surrendered the opening kickoff for a TD, Tressel wouldn't have come back with his full first-string and attacked (we scored on a 48-yard Boeckman-to-Small bomb).

Coqui;978910; said:
True. but that was only one drive. Even the announcers said he should do that.

MililaniBuckeye;978960; said:
If Tressel wasn't running it up, why didn't he pull the starters once we were up 21-0, even though it was still in the first half? Tressel has yanked starters that early before, but he didn't against Northwestern.

I think I'll go back and rewatch the first half of that game and see just when Tressel pulled starters and which ones he did. I doubt he yanked that entire starting unit for the entire second quarter like you said.

Back to the original thread topic, Tressel will run it up...

I just rewatched the first half of the Northwestern game. Starters played through the entire first quarter, so your statement "2nd string was in as of halfway through the 1st quarter" is wrong. Our first drive of the second quarter had the second-string offensive line as a unit, but Boeckman, Hartline, and Robiskie were still in (the OL rotates as a unit regularly, so this is normal). Second and third drives of the second quarter were all first-stringers, so your claim "and 3rd string came in in the 2nd" is not even close. Hell, we even went for it on 4th and 8 near the Northwestern red zone on our second drive of the second quarter (already up 35-0) in lieu of kicking a FG. Schoenhoft didn't set foot on the field until less than three minutes left in the second quarter. By the way, same story for the defense...aside from Spitler filling in for Laurinaitis for a while, and our DT rotation, the defense was virtually the first string the entire half.

So, next time you want to challange someone, it may be a good idea to have your facts lined up first...

Badgers' 2004 victory dance inciting Buckeyes

Friday, November 02, 2007
Columbus- Woody Hayes was 25-1-2 against Wisconsin. Jim Tressel is 1-3.
While the current OSU coach brushed off any cliched suggestion this week that the Badgers have his number, Tressel has been only too happy to motivate his players for Saturday's matchup between the No. 1 Buckeyes (9-0, 5-0 Big Ten) and No. 21 Badgers (7-2, 3-2) with the reminder that Wisconsin has won three straight games in Columbus and victoriously danced on the midfield block O in 2004.
"That's a bitter taste in everyone's mouth," said tight end Rory Nicol, one of 23 current Buckeyes who witnessed that dance. "I think it's disrespectful. But part of me says they beat us fair and square - it's not like they danced on the block O in the third quarter.

1. Wisconsin is still the same power run team it was under Barry Alvarez, but it will be interesting to see if the lines are as physical. The reason the Badgers were so successful against the Buckeyes under Alvarez was because they were the one team not afraid to run right at Ohio State.

2. So many teams see the scarlet and gray uniforms and get too intimidated to run right at them, instead trying to use bubble screens and sweeps to the outside. OSU linebackers have always been too fast for this and have little trouble going sideline to sideline, which makes for a great run defense every year.

Wide load: Wisconsin's Hill tough to stop

Friday, November 2, 2007 3:37 AM
By Ken Gordon

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Whether injured Wisconsin running back P.J. Hill can play Saturday or not, Ohio State linebacker James Laurinaitis is preparing for a long, hard day. "With Wisconsin, you know you'll see a bunch of power, lead zone plays coming right at you," he said, sounding weary after practice Wednesday. "They pound it. It doesn't matter who they have at running back, they're coming at you."
