Game Thread Game Ten: Ohio State 38, Wisconsin 17 (final)

Maybe, but those recent wins came under Alvarez when he had some pretty good teams going against some pretty bad tOSU teams. That won't happen this Saturday.
I've seen this on both our boards and theirs today. We shouldn't be trying to discredit them for beating us 3 out of 4 just because those teams weren't 12-0 quality. Neither were theirs. They beat us, that's all that matters.

I'm not discrediting its impressiveness. I'm discrediting its importance for this Saturday.

1999: Wisconsin (10-2) 42, Ohio State (6-6) 17
2001: Wisconsin (5-7) 20, Ohio State (7-5) 17
2004: Wisconsin (9-3) 24, Ohio State (8-4) 17

In 1999, they were Big Ten champs and had Ron Dayne run all over us in the second half. In 2001, although they ended up 5-7, they were still a tough team and we had a brand new head coach who just came up from I-AA and inherited a team in disarray. In 2004, Wisconsin was a solid 9-3 team while we were two games before our transition from Zwick to Smith.

What do these three games mean for this weekend? Jack fucking squat. Wisconsin isn't the clearly superior football team like they were in 1999 and 2004, and I think our head coach is a tad more familiar with this surroundings and personnel than he was in 2001.

So, yeah, they beat us the last three times in Columbus. Doesn't mean a damn thing this weekend...

Wow. I was just over at the Wisky board looking for somebody spouting off about how Wisky was going to put one to us. Those always get me fired up.

Couldn't find it. Tremendous respect for this team over there. I think their pessimism may even exceed our optimism.

And I picked up this tidbit:

Wisconsin has beaten a Buckeye team that finished with fewer than 3 losses once in the last 64 years.

The Shoe is going to be rockin'

I had this game circled at the beginning of the year....but I think it might be a clinic put on by the Bucks.

:oh:

I watched most of two of their games. Their defense really was having problems in both games. I think this game will be at least a 21 point margin in our favor. It will give our guys a good test against the run prior to Mike Hart.

if hill is less than 100 percent they could have issues....you dont want to have donovan having to the heavy lifting on the road..wiskey's o line is big but slow and unathletic....and there d line lacks a true pass rush specialist...i just dont see wiskey doing much

Nope, it doesn't. That doesn't mean it's time to throw out the excuses as to why we lost. They beat us, big deal.

actually it DOES have a damn thing to do with this weekend. Tressel is going to take out three losses worth of revenge in just sixty minutes of football.
