Game Thread Game Six: Ohio State 35, Michigan State 24 (final)

i nominate the offensive coordinator and QB coach for starters...

all of you guys who said that Ohio State would score 40+ points need to ding yourselves... Ohio State has not scored 40+ since freaking San Jose State in '02...
I can't ding myself, but you can do it for me, lv :wink2: .
The only reason I thought we'd score 40 (42 to be exact) is because MSU's defense is so bad. Our offense is making them look pretty good, though.
On a more important note, did it look to anybody else like Youboty was a little gimpy on the TD? It looked to me like his leg was bothering him a little bit.

I have to disagree with you, Smith has looked much the same as he did last week. He's missing his reads, and he's missing open receivers. He's not playing terribly, but he's not playing good, either.

I swear this feels like last year where JZ seemed to be pressing and TS came in with no pressure and the whole attitude of the season changed. Now TS seems to be trying too much. Is it time for JZ? The first offensive series will tell.

I think this would be a good game to put JZ in. MSU doesn't appear to have much of a pass rush, which would let JZ sit in the pocket and pick out his receiver. And, I think everybody would agree, that is what JZ does best.

This is so frustrating to me.....its obvious to me after watching most of the first half, Smith is still pressing and missing reads. He has regressed as the season has gone on.

Our defense is not playing that well today and our offense needs to put some points on the board.

The protection has been there, he is not pulling the trigger.

Zwick needs to get in the game.

He is simply a better quarterback for the spread offense the Buckeyes are trying to run. He can read the field and pick the best receiver. Look at what Stanton is doing... not a great runner, but he can throw... like a quarterback should. Troy Smith's 51 yard touchdown was good, but underthrown; with better coverage that pass is incomplete.

If the Buckeyes were running the standard Big Ten I formation, I would stay with Smith, but it's spread; the quarter needs to be Zwick.

Zwick played against a very good Texas defense and loses the job for good. I don't like it.
