Game Thread Game One: Ohio State 34, Miami of Ohio 14 (final)

Care to give a reason? Do tell what phase of the game Miami is superior such that we can expect Miami to put up 24 and OSU only 19. While you're at it, explain how OSU will even put up 19 at all, seems an odd number to choose. 2TD a Safety and an FG? 3 TDs with two missed xtras? Do tell.

it's just a number, but to break it down...4 FG's and a TD. i think our guys are veteran enough to win this game. a lot of things would have to go our way - win the battle up front, get pressure on zwick/qb to be named, run the ball for at least 4 ypc, betts makes good decisions. if all of those things happen i think we can win. we have a lot of senior talent that's headed for the nfl next year. it's probably the most talented in that sense that we've had with at least 6 likely draft picks. plus, osu will lose to an in-state school sometime...why not tomorrow?

go redhawks!

You plan on seeing your first team play the whole 60 minutes? If so, don't you think they'll tire? I ask this because I'm willing to admit your first team can "stay on the field" with Ohio State but depth is your problem.

Miami isn't a pushover, but its going to take a huge effort on their part, and a sub par effort on OHio State's part for Miami to win this game. Yes, that can happen. I appreciate your standing behind your team. But the chances are remote.

On the other hand, OSU tends to "start slow" under tress and work more and more in as the year goes. The score may end up close, but I doubt it will ever be in particular jeopardy. I say this because Ohio State out-matches Miami in every single phase of the game. That's not to so Miami stinks, it's to say Ohio State is better - in my estimation.

Considering you averaged 2.4 ypc against Michigan and Iowa freakin State, I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. As a matter of fact you guys only averaged 4.3 yards per play against those 2 defenses. Hell you cant even run on MAC teams..your average per game last year was 120 yds which was good for 91st in the country. But now your just gonna walk into Columbus and run for 4 ypc? Your probably the type of guy who holds his dick with 4 fingers and pisses all over 3 of them but thinks tommorow is the day he wakes up and is the next John Holmes.

As far as 24 points goes...har-dee-fucking-har. We've never given up more than 20 to an Ohio team in the Shoe since we started playing one every year and only given up a TOTAL of 54 in the 4 years JT has been here.

To think a team that just lost about 20% of their offense when Larkin graduated, is going to come in and drop 24 on us is almost as dumb as the 4 ypc notion.

You're right; I don't. But I'm not the one on their board running my mouth, am I? If I were, I would educate myself before doing do.

"running my mouth?" if predicting a score that's not in your favor, then rationalizing my thought serves as running one's mouth, i wonder what kind of response i would get if i was really talking trash rather than making conversation. (btw- my understanding is that possibly two other qb's could see playing time so i was simply placing a question mark behind your starters name.)

if miami loses, so what? we're supposed to lose. but if we win, that would be huge for the school and the program so predicting/hoping for a win seems logical, and reasonable, to me.

go redhawks!

OSU QB's:

#10 Troy Smith - Suspended - will not play
#12 Justin Zwick - Will Start
#17 Todd Boeckman - #2 - accoring to Tressel, he will see some action
#16 Rob Schoenhoft - true freshman - will redshirt unless everyone else is injured
#13 Ben Kacsandi - redshirt freshman - walkon - doubtful to play
#14 Matthew Ciepiela - redshirt freshman - see Kacsandi

Unless one of the walkons plays, you will only see Zwick and Boeckman.

I love how this guy will respond to anything but facts when they are presented to him. Also notice the typical mid major flamer move of talking shit, predicting a win, letting us know his teams athletes are just as good as ours but then hedging the bet with "we aren't supposed to win anyway".

The other bullshit you'll be able to read over there is that they almost had us but for a play here and there as well as the obligatory "the refs fucked us" and "the MAC games are all that really matter" threads.

The only thing you won't read is anyone being classy enough to just admit they got it handed to them once again by their big brother.

#7 Ted Ginn - #3 qb , #1 when in Shot Ginn formation
