When a member of a MAC team says, "Those guys are not super-human. We're going there to win, not check out The Horseshoe", about the #5 all-time team in college football, that shows a distinct lack of respect.

Mililani: Maybe you're taking other quotes into consideration but the one you posted is not disrespectful at all. Are we super-human? No. We're damn good but not "super-human". Are they going here to win? Of course. Who plays to lose?

That is bulletin board material, no doubt.

As if our defense even needs it, all off-season they have been hearing about how bad they are going to be without Hawk & Company, this is just even more motivation.

Compared to NIU we are super-humans. Our left guard probably will be Steve Rehring (6'8" 329 lbs.) and one of their outside backers doesnt even weigh 200 lbs.

Ouch.

I like Phil's attitude. I don't care if it is bullentin board material, I would much rather him say that then "well we will do our best and see what happens." No screw that, we know we can beat your, we've beat good teams before, we can beat them again.

No you're not. I don't care how fat your left guard is. Our starting ofensive tackle ([FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]Chris Acevedo[/FONT]) is 6'5, 305. One of our guards ([FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]Matt Biondi[/FONT]) is 6-5, 320. One of our linebackers is small, so be it.

Earth to G-Force. Earth to G-Force. Come in, please. Playing the #1 team in the nation on the road is not the same as beating an overrated Maryland team at home. You've beaten decent teams before, at home. You have NEVER beaten a team as good as you'll face on the road on 9/2.

I don't think it shows a lack of respect. I think Horvath is trying to sound confident, hoping it will rub off on his teammates.

But I'm glad he said it. I believe it will end up on the bulletin board, as tOSU coaches attempt to keep the Buckeyes from looking ahead to the probable #1 vs. #2 matchup on Sept. 9th.

Man, if I've ever wanted to totally lay desolate waste to a fuckin' mid-level wannabe team, it's Northern Illinois. I don't care about Wolfe. I don't care about Free. Northern Illinois is not in the same solar system as our team, "new" defense or not. They have two guys who might--might--start here. The rest of their entire team would be lucky to crack the two-deep at Ohio State.

Same thing could be said about the Maryland team we beat. Sometimes things happen. No i am not saying they are nearly as good as you just pointing out facts. Don't freak out.
