Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

Our secondary is slow? LMAO. You do know comming into college Jamo (TG's brother and will be the starting FS) ran a 4.4, and was a part of the 4x400 state championship squad. Also, Jenkins is more of a shut down corner but he runs a legit 4.43. He was a track standout athlete 2 years ago after winning the New Jersey state 400 meter dash and placing 3rd in the 200 meter dash as a high school junior. Our Nickel Back (Brandon Mitchell) also was a track star in high school after placing 1st in the Georgia state 400 meter dash as well as being a member of the state championship 4x400 as both a junior and senior. Since then these players have been working out on their speed with a former olympian, Butch Reynolds....But hey if those 3 examples dont impress you, and you still want to underestimate our secondary - go right ahead. lol. :)
He was talking about NIU's Defense. Now who's slow?

The rest of the college football world has finally starting to recognize how good the 6-7, 302-pound senior is. Free will be a ten-year NFL cog and an early first day draft pick next year thanks to his freakish combination of tight end speed and defensive tackle strength. The next-level scouts would probably like to see him add another 15 pounds to his relatively lanky frame, but that's nitpicking. It’ll be his quickness and athleticism that gets him the big payday.

Hmm we have the #6 RB and the only team with both offensive tackles in the top 25 according to CFN. Not to mention the nation's leading returner in completion precentage.

Don't underestimate us.

I'm noticing none of the defensive players are making any top 25 lists. The OSU offense will have to shoot itself in the foot more than once for us not to score over 30. I don't think people are underestimating niu, most of us think it'll be a good game for about a half.

Uh, check who the #2 QB is. :roll1:

NIU will get pounded. MAC wannabes. I'm sick and tired of hearing "we scare BCS teams", "respect us", "don't overestimate us". If you stay within 3 TDs, then maybe we can talk...

Well, with the #6, #17 tackles, #6 RB and #23 QB in the nation NIU no longer has any excuse not to win the game against a defense replacing 9 starters. Forget underdogs, NIU is going to come into the 'Shoe and show the Buckeyes what a real offense is!
