Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

NIU sucks!

They are so dead!

Posts like this don't add anything to the discussion.

Opinions based on some football-related observations, or some actual facts, would be much better received on this board, even by fellow Buckeye fans.

NIU fans, please don't bother responding to the post I quoted.

Oh......My......God!

Forgive me for the sarcasm!

Lighten up Frances!

Reggie Bush is still bigger than Wolfe.

That wasn't my question. If he's 200 lbs, is that big enough to last an NFL season as the workhorse? I seem to recall guys that are 230 or 240 lbs getting injured too. In any case, Warrick Dunn gets quite a bit of playing time and he's only slighly heavier than Wolfe. And I don't think height matters. If anything, being shorter helps, with a lower center of gravity and being able to hide behind the O-line until you get through the hole.

It's a question of physics. Force=Mass*Acceleration!

The Mass of Chris Wells tips the scales in his favor. No pun intended!

Sorry to get this off-topic, but if you don't know about physics, don't try to use it to support your ideas. I think you want to use "momentum = mass x velocity."

And you can have all the momentum in the world, but if you have no football skills, you aren't going to get very far when the defender takes out your legs.

Ok - back on topic: I think that this is a great first game for this Ohio State team. It'll be a chance to test the defense - both against the run and the pass, and a good opportunity to iron out the wrinkles (if any) in the offense.
