Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

Speaking as another former sergeant, I think not. A little ass-kicking by a good sergeant can keep you from prematurely checking out the pearly gates.

Dude, life is dangerous enough as it is, wear the bloody helmet and keep from wearing a bloody stub above your shoulders.

The headlock that Mili would have put him in might have resulted in the bloody stump anyway.

I do wear it about 95% of the time when on base. Its jsut that I know alot of the SP's because I like to talk to them about their job - I almost when in as one if I couldnt get through SERE training (but I opted to go Admin for normal work hours so I could finish my degree and get to OTS). Its just a little thing I play with them about. Its nothing serious, didnt mean for it to sound as if Im trying to be some sort of badass, lol.

Wow, I didnt you were Chairforce Mili, that actually makes me think alot differently of you now. Where were you stationed?

SATX - are you stationed in TX? My uncle (MSGT) recently retired from Sheppards, just checking to see if you know him or not? I want to get down to Texas for my next base - would be much better than this quiet base.

A guy in my shop failed out of SERE. He said he loved it while he was there though and if he could he would have finished it out.

Yeah, the training is rigorous. I contemplated going in when they recruited at my TS after basic, but I would rather get OTS and have em all kissin my ass, lol. Seriosuly though, its prolly a fun ride to be either SERE or a Pararescue if you are devoted enough to the job and actually want to be in it for the work and not just the glory and beneifits (ie. signing bonuses).

I'll take that as a compliment, although I know that wasn't your intention. By the way, for you non-Air Force folks, "shirt" is AF slang for First Sergeant (short form of "first shirt").
It certainly wasn't meant negatively. I've never had a problem with a shirt. I'm not gung ho AF or anything but I still respect those who did their time and did it well. All I know is that at this point of my career I wouldn't want to be a Shirt. Not at all.

Damn man, lol, been to enough bases? Thats awsome. What was your job? I think if my job stays cool like it is and if I get transfered to another base I will re-up on my enlistment in a few years. Also, what did you leave as, TSGT?
