Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

It is in no way shape or form meaningless... see our fans are proud of our school because every year, we win. And we win in one of the best conferences in America. Its something that people call a track record. Somoething that NIU doesn't have. Year after year, Ohio State has great defenses, and trust me, it won't change anytime soon.
For the last decade NIU has pumped out 4 great backs. Turner and Leshon Johnson played/ are playing in the NFL and Thomas Hammock would have if it wasn't for a heart condition.Garrett Wolfe is the next in line.

Man I thought I got this board wound up a time or two, but this many pages over a team that I have never heard of about a running back that I have never heard of.........

How have you not heard of Garrett Wolfe? He only ran for 50 gazillion yards last year, and he would've had more if they didn't limit the length of the football field to only 100 yards!

Yes I did. Wolfe is not Sproles, and you have a grand total of 0 players on that defense playing for you this year.

It is meaningless.

Ummm, look again, smarty pants. Pay close attention to the names Quinn Pitcock, David Patterson... just off the top of my head..

Wolfe is not Sproles, I'll give you that. Sproles, as I said, had actually PERFORMED by the time OSU played him.

I'll say it's meaningless, but it wasn't meant to mean anything other than to illustrate what OSU has done in the past with Smallish Heisman type backs.

Yup, terriffic backs... first of all i'm not doubting that garret wolfe is a good back and im not saying he wont be drafted. And three backs in the NFL from NIU that no one outside of NIU has ever heard of, I don't consider a track record. Even Miami (OH), BG, and Akron had people i've heard of...

7 - 5... second best? Nice. Man, the MAC is worse than I had given em credit for.
Oh, yeah.. Miami went 7 -4... 1 game difference between 2nd and 6th, eh?

It's called MAC play! The MACC game features supposedly the best two teams in the MAC, and since NIU lost we would be #2. Miami (OH) lost to NIU, lost to BG which had the same MAC record as them, lost to Central Michigan which had the same MAC record as them as well (which NIU beat as well). Toledo was 6-2. Therefore, Miami (OH) was around the 5th or 6th best team in the MAC.

EDIT: Let's try and stay civil with the football discussion.

Wolfe has preformed against everyone he has ever played. I guess I will have to keep saying this until your ears bleed. It isn't his fault he hasn't had the chance to shine against a team like Ohio State (yet).

4-4 in our last 8 games against BCS teams.

We ain't beating anyone you are correct.
sorry....just going off YOUR quote that you "scare" every BCS team you play, and your other quote that you don't expect to beat Ohio State, but you do expect to scare them.

better get those halloween masks on.
