In a recent interview with Chad Simmons, Maddox Davis stated that he grew up seeing his dad cheer for Ohio State. His dad is from Ohio. We are in his top three with Miami and LSU. The Bucks are contenders for Davis, Brysen Wright, Lorenzo McCullen Jr., Braylon Clark, and lead for Jett Harrison. I know we need numbers for each class, but what is the point in going after the 2027 WRs super hard if we have a stocked 2028 class?

Tom Loy on Madoxx Davis:
I still believe Ohio State is setting the bar early for the Georgia native, who is originally from New Jersey. The Buckeyes continue to cause Davis to light up with a smile from ear to ear when he talks about them. That said, this recruitment is far from over. We'll see where he visits this fall, and we will see which schools continue to move the needles for him as time progresses.

Loy mentioned that Clemson, LSU, Florida and Ole Miss will be involved. Georgia and Miami are two others that are lingering as well.
Davis has just two game day visits planned so far, Ohio State vs Michigan and Alabama vs Georgia.

Madoxx Davis will be visiting Ohio State this weekend instead of Alabama. He will still be making his trip for The Game in November.

LOVE. I know we're stacked at WR and Jamier Brown is a similar player, but why not have two elite slot receivers with blazing speed instead of one? I think Maddox can play any WR spot, but you get my drift.

2028 WR Madoxx Davis

Even though Ohio State already has a commitment from arguably the 2028 class’ best receiver in Jett Harrison, the Buckeyes remain a top contender for nearly all of the other five-star receivers in the class, too. One of those receivers is Davis, the No. 5 wide receiver and No. 23 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Davis has been one of Cortez Hankton’s top targets in the 2028 class since Ohio State offered him in March, and his trip to Columbus this weekend shows clear mutual interest. A Georgia native, Davis was originally scheduled to attend the Alabama/Georgia game in Tuscaloosa this weekend, but is now making his way to Ohio State instead.
