Ron Apparently Moonlights as a Republican from Kentucky

I Thought this was slightly amusing. In this Yahoo! Article about Greg Oden there is a blurb about Ron Lewis which contains information about his secret career as a white politician (linked within the quote).

Ron Lewis ? A 6?4 prospect from Ohio State, he was a four year player, playing his last two seasons at Ohio State. Ron?s game got lost in the Greg Oden hype. He averaged 12.6 points a game on a team that went to the National Championship. Ron looks like an NBA player, clearly passing the ?eye test? ? his frame and body are very sculpted ? clearly looking the part. His jumper is clean and with good release, and his quickness is passable, he?s not gonna run down Leandro Barbosa, but face it who can? He likes to attack the rim, with a slasher?s type game. That should make him very attractive to NBA teams, especially in the 2nd round ? if he falls that far. Ron looked good in drills and very fluid with his footwork. Ron describes his game as Raja Bell-like, but he may be more of a playmaking combo-guard at this level. He admits that he?s got to work on his ball handling, but from an offensive point of view, Ron is lights out to NBA three point range, and is a hell of a free throw shooter. Look for video and photos of Ron later this week.

Someone should show Lebron some video of Lewis from this past year. Want to talk about a guy with a killer instinct. Everytime the Bucks needed a basket Ron either put his head down and made a layup or stepped up for some huge three pointers.

I see your point, but Lebron is running into the same problem that Ron Lewis had...it's probably just not going to happen this year.

Ron Lewis is the best all-around prospect at IMG. Zabian is a stud, and JR could be a first rounder, but Ron Lewis does all the little things right. He can shoot the hell out of the basketball. He has good technique on almost everything he does. He is a slasher that plays hard to the basket and he can shoot. Did I mention he could shoot?

Ron says his game is like Raja Bell, and that?s a good comparison. It?s hard to gauge defensive intensity in workouts, but the word on Ron is he plays solid defense, and he showed solid defensive skills at Ohio State. Check out Ron?s work out video on the main page, in the video player now

Ohio State's Ron Lewis didn't get a lot of publicity in the Greg Oden fanfare. What little press was left over usually went to point guard Mike Conley. There certainly wasn't much left for the likes of Ron Lewis, the 6'4" senior shooting guard who played alongside the future top pick in the draft and his point guard counterpart. Make no mistake, though - Ron Lewis is ready for the NBA.

The Houston Rockets got a front-row view of Lewis' individual ability in a recent workout, where Lewis wowed the team with his lights-out shooting from all over the court. He's got the three, he's got the mid-range, and he loves to attack the rim. He's a strong finisher on the break and runs the wing as well as anyone. His primary weakness is said to be his ball-handling, but given that McGrady and Rader Alston are going to take care of most of that, it shouldn't be an issue.

The Rockets are definitely interested in adding a Lewis to their lineup. Their first choice, of course, is Rashard Lewis, but if they can't find a way to make that happen, Ron Lewis could turn out to be someone the Rockets take a long look at. He might even be enough to make them reconsider trading the top pick.

A lot of anxious athletes in his situation would find something else to do for a few hours. Go to the mall. Catch a movie. Take a walk in the park. Then turn on the television.

Ron Lewis will watch it all in his Columbus apartment Thursday night. All five hours of an NBA draft he hopes to be a part of. He has always watched it because it's good theater. He has never hung on the ending like he will this year.
"It's really going to be exciting," he said. "A jittery moment."
Lewis, who helped Brookhaven win a state championship and Ohio State nearly win a national championship, isn't in the position three of his former OSU teammates are. Greg Oden is the presumptive No. 1 pick. Mike Conley Jr. is also projected as a lottery pick (among the top 14). Daequan Cook could go late in the first round or early in the second.
