Height: 6-4
Weight: 187
Class: 2014
Position: Point Guard, Small Forward
High School: Evansville Bosse
AAU team: Eric Gordon All-Stars

2014 guard Jaquan Lyle continues to show why he?s considered one of the best freshman both in the state and also nationally. The 6-foot-4, 187-pound Lyle is a brilliant passer and when he?s not facilitating for teammates, can also score off the dribble and from the perimeter. Many of his passes lead to turnovers because his teammates are simply not ready for his delivery of the ball. Lyle?s court vision for a kid that just turned 15 is remarkable. The Evansville Bosse freshman is still at four offers ? Illinois, Indiana, Purdue and Xavier ? and will likely add an offer from Ohio State in the near future.

Indiana State AAU Tournament: Jaquan Lyle interview
by Joe Eberhardt in Recruiting | May 23rd, 2011

With his Eric Gordon All-Star team out of action for the weekend, class of 2014 guard Jaquan Lyle teamed up with the Derrick Rose Best Choice All-Stars for the 2011 Indiana State AAU tournament.

The 6-foot-4, 187-pound Evansville Bosse freshman is drawing interest from schools all over the country, including Indiana. He currently holds offers from the Hoosiers, Purdue, Illinois and Xavier.

Inside the Hall caught up with Lyle for a video Q & A on Saturday at North Central:

Spring Scouting: Jaquan Lyle
by Joe Eberhardt in Recruiting | May 25th, 2011

Inside the Hall continues its first breakdown of IU?s 2014 targets today with Evansville Bosse and Eric Gordon All-Stars Guard Jaquan Lyle. At last weekend?s State AAU Tournament, Lyle joined forces with the 2014 Derrick Rose Best Choice team, as his Eric Gordon squad was taking a weekend off.

Inside the Hall was in attendance for two of Lyle?s games and here are some of our thoughts from the weekend:

? Willing and talented passer: To an unaware observer, Lyle didn?t look like a new addition to the Derrick Rose Best Choice team. The 6-foot-4 freshman distributed the ball and played an unselfish style with a brand new set of teammates. Lyle knows how and when to find teammates, whether they?re cutting to the basket, moving off of screens for a jump shot or running the break for easy baskets. He can pass using the dribble, at a standstill or out of the post as he backs down his man. No matter the method, Lyle is an effective passer who creates easy scoring opportunities with great vision and crafty passing.

Jaquan Lyle, a 6-3 guard from Evansville Bosse, said Michigan State and Ohio State have been showing a lot of recent interest.

2014 Evansville Bosse wing Jaquan Lyle was relatively quiet from a scoring standpoint in his debut for Spiece Indy Heat and mentioned Michigan State and Ohio State as the schools “showing the most interest” right now.

I read on an Indiana board that Dan Dakich was talking about the 2014 class in Indiana on his radio show yesterday, and made a vague remark about some of the top recruits in the Indiana class of '14 being the type of player that gets coaches fired (more or less a critique that certain '14 Indiana preps have a lot of talent but don't play team basketball very well) ... the Indiana fans of course didn't think their '14 commits were who he was talking about and their consensus was that Jaquan was the main kid Dakich was talking about. I don't have any idea if that's true or not, as Indiana fans seem to think every top recruit from in-state that they don't get plays selfish or has serious attitude problems, but at least in this instance here's Dakich saying the same sort of thing albeit without naming names ... just an FYI.

Ohio State offers Bosse's Lyle a scholarship
Louisville's Pitino up next
By Gordon Engelhardt
Posted February 21, 2012

EVANSVILLE ? For Bosse High School sophomore guard JaQuan Lyle, the number of NCAA Division I scholarship offers has swelled to six.

Ohio State University's men's basketball program has joined Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, Xavier and Michigan State. All have made formal offers to Lyle, who cannot sign a binding national letter of intent until November of his senior year.

Bulldogs coach Shane Burkhart said University of Louisville coach Rick Pitino will come to Bosse to visit with Lyle on Friday.

A 6-foot-4, 202-pounder, Lyle attended the Michigan at Ohio State men's basketball game on Jan. 29. OSU associate head coach Dave Dickerson scouted Lyle when the Bulldogs played Vincennes Lincoln on Jan. 7. Lyle, still only 15 years old, later met Buckeyes head coach Thad Matta.

"JaQuan is excited," Burkhart said. "He's been playing well and proving himself to the team and to his coaches. He's putting in extra time and is doing a great job when he's put into situations. Some big-

time schools are starting to show really strong interest."
