God, these teams fucking blow!

The unfortunate thing is that these teams suck so equally that the ESPN fellatio machine (Mark May, et. al.) will consider this an instant classic just because the score is close.

does anyone know where May and Alberts went to college?, and also Musberger?

I'm amazed that Miami only scored 7 points. 3 FG attempts with 0 points, a punt blocked.

Coker should be on the hot seat now. I lost some vMoney on Miami, but as far as the national picture for tOSU is concerned, I think it's a good thing. I expect FSU to lose at BC and to Florida, plus probably 1 more ACC game.

If Miami gets their heads out of their asses, they could still win a lot of games this year. I think Kyle Wright is pretty good, but getting sacked on second and goal from the 2 was a brutal mistake.

Best of outcomes. Better team lost (I don't know how they did it) and FSU will get theirs down the road for sure.

I would still trade for Kyle Wright. Tremendouse pressure and he had some very nice throws.

Absolutely disgusting piece of college football tonight. Both teams deserved to lose that ballgame. The only bright spot was Olsen from Miami, he is a gamer.....and I think that Wright will be a good one down the road.

What can you say about the turnovers, penalties.....missed field goals....and absolute thuggery? This game is hard to watch for a person like me who appreciates well played, disciplined football. When you get these two teams together you have a bunch of athletes who aren't coached worth a damn in my opinion. Phew.......at least that one is over...it's like watching nails being scratched on a chalkboard for a few hours straight.

Neither one of these teams is a top 10 caliber ballclub.

On a side note.....did anyone see that block on #34 from FSU on Miami's last drive? HOLY SHIT! He got absolutely blasted, they called a penalty for him taking off his helmet.......but in all truth he had the thing knocked off of his head.

Some pretty funny quotes from a pre-game article...

One online service, Sportsline.com, even had UM ranked 18th in the preseason despite having 10 starters back on defense. "Do you believe that?" cornerback/returnman Devin Hester huffed. "Eighteenth?!? That's a big slap in the face for us. Man, Miami, Eight-teeeeenth?"
Get ready to turn the other cheek Devin.

Swasey (Miami strength coach) doesn't think so either. He says he'd be "shocked" if the Canes weren't playing for a national title again in 2005. Can't fathom it, he says. "I'm basing that on the past and what I see here now, how they're disciplined and how they carry themselves."
Somebody get him a blanket and elevate his feet. He should be going into shock about now.

Devin Hester certainly didn't look like "the best return man in the nation" tonight(as he had been proclaimed as by some). Big time return men don't muff 2 punts and watch another that couldve easily been fair caught roll past them down to the 3 yard line.

I meant to post about this but forgot. Seriously, Hester looked like total garbage. It seemed like he made a mental mistake every time he went back to return the ball.

We're gonna be told over and over how good this conference is, but right now it just seems like a conference with two or three very bad teams, and a whole lotta middle of the road teams. Right now, I would take the top three teams in the Big Ten, SEC, and even the top two from the Pac 10 over anyone from the ACC.

On my ballot, I'm keeping FSU at the same spot as last week, with some teams that were behind them passing them. I'm putting Miami clear down at #20. One reason is that after one game, it's kinda stupid to rate a team ahead of a team that just beat them. Also, I dropped them that far because they just plain sucked.

That said, I'm not bound to the rule that says you don't move down if you win or anything like what the normal pollsters do. Miami has a chance to move back up, and I still think they'll be a better team than FSU by the end of the year. Right now though they stink, and they'll have to earn their way back to where they were.

Hester was a movie-of-the-week last year, and total crap tonight. What a dogshit game between 2 teams that look like middle-of-the-ACC-Packers. I'd take Va Tech or NCSt over either one of these two tonight, though I'm sure Florida State will vault to 5th in the coaches' poll.
