From a UW fan...Kick the @#$# out of Florida!

When is the last time UF won a game outside of the south east? (This is the basic response for the "when is the last time OSU beat a SEC team in a bowl game" remark)

Not exactly your question, but they have played 5 bowl games outside of the South -- and lost every one of them. Ironically, the last time was the Fiesta Bowl playing for the NC in 95. Nebraska rolled 62-24.

I agree with BigBucks' assessment in theory. If Florida keeps putting points on the board, then Ohio State will definitely score 30+. If Florida does not, then the Buckeyes will score around 20-24. I also think Tress has lots of respect for Meyer and will not keep his foot on the gas pedal if the opportunity arises (much to my chagrin). Ohio State will "just win." That has always been the modus operandi. In all honesty, I can't quite fathom a situation in which Troy Smith and the Buckeyes need to score where they don't. In the desert weather, that's just the way it is.

Nice post DaddyBigBuck. I think the final score will be 21- 17, I'm not sure which team will get the 21 though.

"And UF has lost 3 of their last 4 to slow plodders from the B10? Thats what I've heard."

Fair enough, but two of those were under the leadership of the worst coach in the history of Florida football. It's a wonder he even got the teams to a bowl. Luckly the talent overcame the bad coaching. It's like a knife through the chest to even think about those dark years.

Thank you for describing the Cooper years. You only had Zook for a short period of time.

Didn't we beat Penn State in '98? I'm pretty sure we did.

Where does the south begin anyway? Is Syracuse in the south? We beat them in '99. Is Maryland in the south?

I know we are still trying to build a tradition that compares to OSU and UM, but we do know how to play football down here. If Troy and the boys go in to this game with as much cockyness as I'm seeing around here, they are going to be in for a rude awakening. This game is going to be a dog fight.

GO GATORS!!!

Playing Penn State in Orlando doesn't give you a game out of the south.

You have played 4 games outside of the SEC states in 20 years. And you are 0-4 in those games.

You're kidding right? I don't think that matters in the least. It doesn't matter where you play it's WHO you play.

That Nebraska team is arguably the greatest college football team of all-time. and for the rest of those games you have to go in to the '80s and beyond, before Spurrier was our coach. We never won anything until he got here.

Like I said we are a young program compared to yours.

You say it doesn't matter where you play, but the record says otherwise. You would think that if it didn't matter, you guys would be brave enough to leave home for a game. Foley has done a great job of keeping your team in its comfort zone for every game.

Yes, Nebraska 95 may have been the best team ever. But Florida couldn't stay within 5 TD's?? That's just embarassing.

Glad you're hanging in there. Not always so easy on an opponents board. I've been hanging out at Swamp Gas, gets a little rough at times.

Regarding your comments on tOSU scoring 30 points on your D, I do think we are capable of it if we are firing on all cylinders. The one thing that strikes fear in my heart (and should yours as well), is if some of our key players have off games. This is college football, and that does happen from time to time. Troy has been phenomenol in big games, that doesn't mean he will be in this game. Same with the Teddy Ginn, Gonzo, etc. Man, I hate putting all my hopes in 18-22 year olds!

ummmm....0-0 what's you're point?
My point is you say it's embarassing but you have nothing to compare it to. You guys didn't even play them, so how do you know it's embarrassing? The only teams that can say it's embarrassing are the ones that played with them. For all you know Nebraska would have put up 10 TDs on the Buckeyes.

The '95 Cornhuskers are the best college football team I've ever seen. They beat everybody down that year. And then reinstated that criminal Phillips for the bowl game after he was dismissed from the team all year. The biggest cheat move in all of college football!!

DAMMIT!!!!

I don't doubt your program at all... I doubt the consistency of your offense.
If Troy and the boys go in to this game with as much cockyness as I'm seeing around here, they are going to be in for a rude awakening. This game is going to be a dog fight.
Homerism/overconfidence is a dime a dozen on message boards, and has little to do with the players.

When was the last time you heard an OSU player utter anything overconfident in a press conference? They might lose, but that won't be why. Tressel & SID Steve Snapp have these boys trained like robots with the press... classy, but boring if you're looking for a fun quotation. They come off the field from a beatdown of Northwestern and praise the opposition.

It's fun to see what the other fans say. I get board when everyone thinks exactly like I do. I'm glad this board is open to others and hasn't tried to stomp me...yet.
Keep backing up your thoughts with valid reasons, stats, etc and we'll enjoy having you here.
