Friday Night Lights at tOSU - July 27, 2012

Which is why Ohio State opted to not get the lights perminately installed during the last stadium renovation/expansion project.

Yep.

On a side note if everyone in attendance had a flashlight app on their smart phone and pointed them at the field it would actually be brighter.

It's been mentioned in the Khalid Thomas thread already, but it appears Friday Night Lights is on for July 27th. I can't wait to see how many recruits this thing brings to campus. I think you'll start to see a lot of kids planning their summer circuit around this event as it draws closer.

Here's a quick free article from Bucknuts on it:

This event will be and should pretty amazing. Getting those out of state recruits to see our campus and chill in the horseshoe will be a big advantage. Especially to those oos recruits who's in state school doesn't match our campus atmosphere.

Does this mean there will be no Friday Night Lights at Florida? What's to prevent if other competing B1G schools, especially scUM, run their own version of it? Can we call it Friday Night Lights, as that name might be copyrighted at UF? And a lot of similar questions going on in my mind. Anyone care to take a shot?

Urban owns the copyright to Friday Night Lights.

Yeah FNL is Urban's brain child. Be funny if he made UF stop it since it was his idea, and is probably copyrighted to him.

I was just joking about the copyright. I'm sure that's not true.

Yeah I was kidding too because doing this is bound to [censored] some UF people off, and I'm sure they'll be [censored]ing and moaning about copyright infringement. And they'll be saying that Urban stole is from them, when in reality he invented it.

I believe it all really started here:

My high school coach had a copy of this back in 1990-91, about Odessa Permian high school. Not sure if the tv show came about from this book or a different idea.

Nonetheless, Urbans' Friday Night Lights is going to be a ridiculous success in Ohio. I'll be going for sure if its open to the public.
