Every time I read a new screed comparing ESPN to a webcam located in hell, I turn on Fox Sports, think "what the fuck?" and return to viewing what is, at least, a competent network ... ESPN.

Of course, I enjoy BTN also.

So you enjoy watching replays of matches in leagues and competitions that they used to have the rights to?

What does FOX still have? Champions League and Europa League for sure. FA Cup? Other than that, everything is on NBC and BeIn now. Keeping Fox Soccer around was pointless, and thank goodness it's gone. It served its purpose and its time had passed.

BeIn would cost me $10 a month. It would bring BTN with but still not worth $120 a year. Also, BeIn isn't in HD here. Still doesn't mean I want another flipping FX channel for 18-34 year olds which is what I thought FX was. As soon as Hulu or Netflix figures out live sports I am done with cable/dish.

I checked the listings Sunday morning expecting something NFL pregame related, but was greeted by soccer or some other boring sport that I could care less about. I would say that is a problem.

I ended up upgrading my Dish plan from 120+ to 200 for $5 a month in order to get FS1, FXX, and Nick Jr for the kid. Of course Nick Jr will be the one that gets watched the most. At least I can legally watch The League now.

That's funny, because pregame douchebaggery is what got me into watching soccer. I wanted an alternative to watching a bunch of idiots say absolutely nothing for the hours leading up to CFB and NFL game time, and watching world class athletes seemed like a good option. I used to think that you had to be a spiky haired preppy piece of shit to enjoy soccer, because those were the people that liked it when I was growing up. Apparently that's not 100% true. I'm not saying that you haven't given soccer a chance, or that you should give it a chance. I'm just saying that there are more than enough football pregame shows out there, and I, like many others, like having an entertainment option that doesn't involve pregame idiocy, or my wife's cooking or home improvement shows.
