Hey guys, I saw a homemade video by a recruit on his tour at OSU that ended with Coach Coombs talking.

Does anyone remember who the recruit was and where I can find the video? I have had no luck on YouTube. Thanks.

BTW, Caoch Coombs is one bad motha [censored].

Sounds like he says "Donovan" about 2 minutes into the speech. Maybe Donovan Munger?

More than likely. There were multiple recruits and their families in the room at the time.

Makes sense. And I've got to admit, if I were a top football player, I'm not sure how you don't just say "sign me up coach" right then and there.

Somewhere in that time frame, I watched Colrain destroy Canton McKinley in the state title game.

That was the 2004 team that finished 15-0 and beat Canton McKinley 50-10 in the title game. From 04-06 Coombs produced Eugene Clifford, Tyler Moeller, Connor Smith, Mister Simpson, Terrance Sherrer, Cobrani Mixon, and a bunch of other kids that wound up at UC or in the MAC. There was just a ton of Div 1 talent on that team.

I'd love to see about a months worth of "Where on Earth is Coach Coombs" episodes. They could always start with him outside of some HS anywhere in the country, and end with him getting the #1 recruit from that state to commit to the Buckeyes. Or he could wrestle Yetis in Nepal and then wrangle pythons in the Amazon. I don't care what he does, the guy would be entertaining for sure.

Going back to maybe 2005, I recall reading that Colrain would take the entire team to camp at Michigan. Was Coombs the coach at Colrain at that time?

it was a long standing thing we had at Colerain with tsun that started with KC's head coach at Colerain (Tom Cosica) back in the late 70's/early 80's.
Can't say it was a fun trip but there some good memories of Bo giving our group a death stare when one of our kids yelled 'OH'(or 'Go Bucks'...my memory is failing) at him. (true story...1985)

UC's all time leading WR, Domminck Goodman (and current Colerain WR coach) was the qb on that 2004 team.

Coombs also had BJ Askew who went to tsun.
