He injected passion into the program. He handled the personal challenges this year with a mature grace and integrity that should be a life lesson for many. I hope they find a way to keep him. If not, I hope he finds happiness in his next role.

Through all his faults, he never waivered in his support of this program and the university. You can't ask more from a coach but to do that and their best to guide the young men in the program properly. He did all of that with flying colors it just happens that he wasn't a great/successful DC. We'll miss his recruiting ability and passion like so many have already pointed out. He'll be a big addition for Coach Fickell and I hope he gets it sorted out. I'm thankful for his efforts as a Buckeye

Great pickup for Fickell and Cincy!
Best of luck coach, like others have states, wish it worked out better for you as DC. But I'm sure stepping down a level and getting back home to Cincinnati will work wonders for him. Be close to the kids and grandkids, and keep the local kids flowing to UC

Sure didn't take long for him to land another job. Perfect fit for him. He'll clean up recruiting from the Cincinnati High schools too. Not sure how much defensive coordinating he'll do at Cincinnati; but basically, Ohio State traded Cincinnati assistant DB coaches Perry Eliano for Kerry Coombs. The real winner here will definitely be Eliano who moves up to a top tier school and gets a significant pay raise.

Can see Coombs and Fickell making a big dent in B1G schools recruiting success in Cincinnati. But i think they’ll affect Vince Marrow and UK even more
wishful thinking. Doubt he can work that miracle.

Probably my favorite position coach in Buckeye history and this is a great example of why. His passion, energy and love for his guys are unmatched. Give 'em hell, coach.
