Former Alabama Head Coach Mike Shula (official thread)

Rumor has it his over-the-top factor in making the decision was that his wife hated Miami and wanted to move back to a smaller town. I expect he'll be there for a while, but he won't have the same success he had at LSU.
I'm guessing that's a rumor he put out there himself to make it easier to leave. Who would turn down south beach for redneck country?

I'm surprised he took the job, but I'm happy about it.

Why? Because I think it's good for tOSU. Assuming Saban improves Alabama, it will be harder for LSU, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee to make it to the BCS Championship Game. And that makes it slightly more likely for tOSU to appear in a future BCS Championship Game.

Two years from now, when 'Bama knocks a #2 ranked Florida, Tennessee, or Georgia out of the title game by winning the SEC Championship Game; thus propelling a 1-loss tOSU team into the 2009 BCS Championship game in the Orange-Bowl-no-they-moved-it-to/Joe Robbie/Pro Player/Whatever-they-call-that-stadium-in-north-Dade-Coiunty-now, I'll dig up this thread and quote myself. :wink2:
