Game Thread For the Natty vs ND, “One More, Then Forever”, Jan. 20th, 34-23 Buckeyes!

Ah, Herbie. He makes 4M a year from ESPN. Tell me, would you bad mouth your colleagues, your company, refuse to talk the company line at the risk of losing a 4M a year gig? He's not paid to be an investigative reporter.
He's paid to draw interest to games ESPN covers or intend to cover. He is not on Ohio State's payroll.
I like to listen to Paul Keels and I enjoy his pro-buckeye banter, but his check comes from the Ohio State Athletic Department. He's paid to be pro-buckeye.
Every other broadcaster on every network seem to be able to do their jobs without stomping through shit the way Malibu Ken does. He is an attention whore, a narcissist, a fragile easily offended child who can’t manage to read the room. His recent attempt to walk back his way into the good graces of Buckeyes Nation is so transparently phony. He’s not fooling most of us.

Have you watched an NBC broadcast of an ND game? Ask Chris Collinsworth what happens to reporters who don't do an Irish slobberfest. Have you listened to the army of ass kissers on any NFL game? And finally, if someone was willing to pay you 4M a year to find ways to promote SEC football while trying to be "objective" when covering games outside the conference, would you refuse?

Herbie somehow pissed off OSU fans way back when - why? I have a feeling much of it had to do that he wasn't being paid to be OSU's shill. something they thought he would automatically be. I recall someone stating that he once said, "If I had a son who was a hot QB recruit I wouldn't encourage him to play for Tressell." Well, much as I enjoyed the Tressel years, we still refer to it as "Tressel Ball" meaning a very "defense first" strategy and QBs like Craig Krenzel, not CJ Stroud.

So you’re saying he’s a sell out?

I listen to a lot of buckeye homers. They admit to being homers. I listened to several Irish, Texas, Oregon, Tennessee, Penn state shows the weeks of those games to get their thoughts on the matchups. They all admit to being homers.

It’s frustrating that Kirk is an SEC homer and ESPN is a sec homer network. With the exception of Paul, few of the national guys admit it. He’s being a sec homer but pretending he isn’t. He can’t have his cake and eat it too.

Des works for the same network. He’s a Michelin man that works right next to Kirk. Des hates Ohio state and is free to trash us, but also gives his honest opinion about ttun. I have more respect for Des and Paul. They own who they are.

Crying because it's my first Natty without my Dad. Unless you're born into it like so many of us, I just don't expect you to understand.

Already have my cigar lit and in hand. Going to walk outside for some peace and quiet, smell the cold air, have a talk with my grandma who is somewhere up in the stars and soak in this moment. They don't come around often.

Love you all, Buckeye Nation. Stay safe tonight.
First, I am so sorry for your loss. Very similar over here for me. Lost my dad December 2023. Thought this was a season he put together. His name? Howard. Just gives me chills how it works out. Praying for you ! They are celebrating with us !
