Ok I was typing this as Rapinoe put the 2nd one in.

FUUUUUUUUCK this announcer. I know he's rooting for an interesting match more than one side or the other, but the last match and now the last few minutes of this one have him sounding like a bad community college homer.

My favorite was him talking about how France having never gotten past the round of 8.....and then referring to them as "mighty" France.

Like they are the ones who have won 10 straight matches in the WC. :lol:

I have never seen a soccer team run out the clock so effectively.

Soccer may be the only sport where the ladies version is more watchable than the men's.


(That - and any sport involving tight unis, and of course beach volleyball.)
And I wouldn’t say any of it was excessive time wasting. If anything there were a couple throw-ins where I thought they should have dared the ref to get involved. Just good smashmouth football earning first downs.
