Florida State Seminoles (official thread)

As much as I'm enjoying the schadenfreude, this does seem like a weak move by the QB.
Great opportunity for a lifelong backup to compete on a big stage, and showcase a little. Then transfer; the portal will still be open.
Instead... if im a college coach, i don't want a guy that quits so easily in the locker room.
FSU will be fine according their qb3.

"We’ve played two SEC teams and won both of them," Glenn said, via On3 Sports. "LSU and Florida. So, you can say what you want about the SEC but we’re just as good. Both teams are top in the country. So, this will be a good and exciting matchup."

I don’t know that I blame the kid. They’re actively shopping the portal for a QB. It works both ways.

It's less about FSU and more about lacking tape and being petty.
He needs the game tape, even if it's not all positive.
Now he just looks like a sour grape afraid of competition and still doesn't have much tape.
What reason is left to bring him in?
Wasn’t he playing after the starter went down? Then he got hurt right?

I don’t profess to understand why kids transfer or don’t, but it is what it is these days.

To me it’s just like coaches who leave the day after signing day.

Rodemaker isn't injured.

As for the difference... well, the coach who bounces has his next gig lined up. He lined up his next job and then resigned.
Rodemaker just let himself down.

Right he’s currently not, but he did get hurt when replacing the starter and didn’t play in the Conference Championship.

I was more referring to no loyalty as it relates to players, coaches and schools. It’s everyone for themselves.

I doubt he made the decision lightly. In this case it appears he is betting on himself.

I dont have a problem with players jumping ship.
I think he's shot himself in the foot with the timing.
Betting on himself would be playing the game and getting good tape to shop.

Let's consider Browns situation. He could very well lose the job in Spring, regardless of what happens on Friday. He could very well end up transferring.
He has the courage to play anyway and know that somebody will recognize his talent, here or elsewhere.
Similar story with Burrow. He had the confidence to play it out before transferring. He waited for Haskins to win the job and put as much on tape as he could (mostly Spring).

What coach is going to be like "hey i want that kid who bailed less than a week before a bowl game he was slated to start?"
Not even Syracuse would touch that.
